Charles Ameringer (cda1) | 12 comments Greetings! I'm Charles Ameringer, an 86-year-old retired history professor, who has drawn on his travels and research to write "The Old Spook," a spy novel about a fictional CIA operative who interacts with real people and actual events in recent history on the global stage; his misions involve rebel chieftains, Mafia dons, and KGB agents in Miami, Mexico, and Central and South America. Fans of John LeCarre and James Bruno will enjoy unraveling this mix of fact and fiction. The Old Spook

Ken Boehs (kenboehs) | 5 comments Hello, Mr. Charles Ameringer! My name is Ken Boehs, I am an ex-military Army Intelligence officer involved in security collection for the NSA & CIA in the '70s. After doing all of that, my life too a different turn...I became an author.

Just wanted to say hi because I am getting introduced to other crime fiction and spy thriller authors.

My book, by the way, is The Tilted Truth. The Tilted Truth

Charles Ameringer (cda1) | 12 comments Good to hear from you, Ken. I started out in NSA in the early fifties when it was still AFSA. By the way, the Playfair cipher plays a key role in my novel. The Old Spook

Ken Boehs (kenboehs) | 5 comments Dear Paul,

Thanks for joining the conversation. We have three (four including you) authors who have books related to espionage. Do you think we can might be able to put something together to gain more visibility for the espionage/spy/thriller genre? I checked and there's not a lot out there for espionage as far as blogged are concerned.
