Nora has created a new blog. Here's the description:

"Welcome to Fall Into the Story, the official blog for Nora Roberts and JD Robb readers. Laura Reeth, Nora’s personal publicist, and a team of editors are set to bring you information and conversation about books, events at Turn the Page Bookstore, Gifts Inn BoonsBoro and the wonderful Inn BoonsBoro, the setting for Nora’s recent Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy.

When her schedule permits, Nora may drop in on the conversations from time to time, too!

Why Fall into the Story? It’s pretty simple. We’ve all fallen into a Nora Roberts or JD Robb book over the last three decades and it’s a grand adventure every single time.

We’re plenty connected with speed of light social media, but this blog is meant for longer discussions and better connections. Here’s the place to share our experiences with wonderful storytelling, laughter and tears."

You're welcome, all!

Kirsten (kmcripn) From the blog's comments (or how In Death changed my life):

I am Marijke Wijnants from the Netherlands, an enthusiastic reader of your novels. My native language is Dutch, so I always had to wait for the translation of your books. 2 years ago I started to read in English, and although it took twice as long to read your books, it triggered something in me. I wrote my first poetry booklet ‘Sprouted from my crazy mind’ and I have you to thank for this. Why you may ask? Because you learned me to think outside the box, because you taught me how to tell a story, because you initiate me to pay attention to details. I am a big fan of your books, needless to say, and my opinion is and always was, you are the author, it’s your story. Of course you get your ideas from the people you meet and the things you experience, but it still stays your creation from your fantasy mind :-). I love you for the wonderful things you gave me, and the confidence that everybody – even me – can create. Hugs for you and Laura from Marijke Wijnants

Kirsten (kmcripn) Had a lot of fun with Nora's list of things she WON'T do. Loved some of the answers... almost ALL of the comments... and was surprised at some of the suggestions from fans.

http://fallintothestory.com/a-definit...

Anyone else have a thought about the list?

message 10: by Kaydee (new)

Kaydee | 13 comments Good list and no disagreements. Best answer? The one that won't occur until long long in the future just cuz it means she plans a long long future.

Scenario I'd like too see does involve fatherhood and the pitter patter of little feet...or paws. Galahad should be a daddy and Somerset the midwife

That's funny:)

message 12: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) How about a dog to chase Galahad around?

message 13: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Oh I like the idea of a puppy to irritate Galahad!

Here is the latest update from Nora, titled Bite Me! You MUST read it!

So did I! Ain't it just delicious? By the way, I agree with her point of view here.

message 17: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) 78%? Hmmm.... As to the fact that there are three men, three women... you can hardly lay that at Nora's feet. Isn't that how it works? Look at any romance series, they may be linked but it's always a different romantic couple for each.

That's why In Death is so fresh, I think! (Well, not the only reason...) But I have a hard time remembering a series a romance/romantic suspense series where you get to follow ONE couple.

Except for the Samantha Jellicoe/Rick Addison series by Suzanne Enoch. But, that one was way too short!

The problem I have is that anyone - ANYONE - that follows that blog should be a fan of Nora or J.D. - or both! Maybe ask her some constructive stuff, but if you don't like Nora Roberts or J.D. Robb, she ain't twisting her arm to get you to read it.

If it was so predictable, and so annoying, why still read her?

For instance I liked Patricia Cornwell, but then she started irritating me. Did I start trolling her website? No! I just stopped reading.

Key distinction, Kirsten...don't like the books? Stop reading and move on.

message 20: by Karen ♐ (new)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 789 comments This is a topic that has bugged me for quite a while. If you do not enjoy the book you are reading, stop and read one that you do like. And why would anyone feel the need to give their opinion on the author's page? I've seen it before with quite a few other authors and never understood it. That's what reviews are for.

message 21: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Exactly! For instance, Sandra Brown. I tried it, disliked it, and moved on. I did NOT go on Sandra's Facebook page and dump all over her.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Social media has made it much too easy for the "haters" to find an audience for their rude comments. Some people just get off on that type thing. There's a time & place for everything...the smart ones know when & where.

message 23: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Oh, they'll hate anything! They just want to piss people off. I just try and ignore them unless they something easily disputed.

Though, that 78% figure had me laughing. What kind of person does that? Do they do that with every romance they read? Do they keep a spreadsheet? Kind of takes the sheer joy out of reading.

If J.D. Robb's books were that average and predictable, she shouldn't be able to make me laugh and cry and go "awwwww" as much as I do. Maybe I'm just a sap. The difference is, I like being a sap.

I'm glad she doesn't back down. If she changed things, it might lessen my enjoyment of them and that would be a sad, sad day.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Thanks for that distinction, Michael. Great point.

message 25: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Yeah, even though, for some reason, I just don't get the same sense of passion as I do in the In Death series, I do like all the different storylines she comes up with.

Like THE HOLLOW trilogy, though I've only read the first one. She spent a lot of time crafting the locale and the villain in that one. It was very enjoyable.

message 26: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments I don't normally quote Taylor Swift but in this case'" The haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate!"

message 27: by lorii (Loriidae) (new)

lorii (Loriidae) Maggie: I agree with you about the haters...are they just jealous I wonder?

Yes some of her trilogies I haven't enjoyed as much as others, but that won't stop me from reading the next book, because other trilogies I have read so many times I can just about quote them word for word.

message 28: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I don't think it matters WHO she is. It never seems to no matter where you are online. They just want to stir up the pot, I think. In some ways, maybe Nora is feeding the issue by responding. Many of them, that's what they want.

message 29: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Maybe, but silence isn't silencing them either. It's time for posts like this to be as viral as the nasty stuff.

message 30: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I just don't like to expend my emotional energies on people like that.

message 31: by Tarri (new)

Tarri While I am really enjoying the In Death books, I am not a big fan of NR romance books, which is one reason it took me so long to listen to the In Death books. That being said, I don't read most of NR other books, unless someone tells me I just must. I listened to The Witness and loved loved loved it, I think it's the trilogies that I don't like as much (except the Key trilogy, loved those too).

Still, I would never go to anyone's FB page and post something negative, nor would I post on someone's blog if I had nothing nice to say. My parents taught me better.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
I think you got her point, Tarri.

message 33: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I gave up on her because I just got sick and tired of the idea of a chief medical examiner chasing serial killers with her own gun.
