Abbey (abbeymcd) | 3 comments its a ten for me... how could they mess up something that was repeated in practically every movie? "Harry you have your mother's eyes..."

Good point. I thought it was green too. In any case, I wasn't very happy about that either. Even if the little girl didn't have green eyes, special effects could change that in two seconds. If they can make dragons and talking hats, I feel like that wouldn't be too much work.

Abbey (abbeymcd) | 3 comments agreed

message 7: by Taylor (new)

Taylor I didn't even notice. That said, they should have put a little care into it as it was such a big deal in the books.

message 8: by Evie ⌲ (new)

Evie ⌲ well in the book her and harry have green eyes but because daniel radcliffe was allergic ti the contacts they couldnt change his eye colour to green, but really lily's eyes should of been blue like harry's or its just stupid

Carol (mynameiscarol) | 5 comments Lily's eye colour doesn't bother me as much as Harry's do in the movies, probably because she isn't in the movies as much as Harry is. As a result, I'm going with 2 on a scale of 1-10 for her eye colour not being the same as his in the movies. Harry having blue eyes in the movies instead of green, however, was way too distracting. I did read something about Daniel Radcliffe being allergic to contact lenses, though, so I try to let it slide.

Dylan Reaves | 54 comments I would have to say about a 1000.

message 11: by Aydin (new)

Aydin Sessions (justin_case) | 406 comments There are worse mistakes made in the movie
So I'm going to say a 6 because they could have used colored contacts for the actress who played lily as she wasn't shown as often as Dan

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Its kind of annoying- they could've at least picked some one who had blue eyes if not green

message 13: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 108 comments 10. The most notable feature is the green eyes.

message 14: by Jack (new)

Jack D. (anthonyburgess) | 31 comments I really don't think it's that big of a deal. Besides the eyes the actor they picked was spot on. Harry didn't have the right coloured eyes either, and it didn't change the movie at all for me. Lots of actors are uncomfortable wearing contacts, so why should they wear them? It doesn't really effect the plot of the movies at all.

message 15: by Wm. Scott (new)

Wm. Scott Conway (wsconway) | 6 comments Oh, after Disney decided to not make Aslan's eyes green in Narnia, I don't think Harry's eyes bothered me. It would seem that cinematic liberties will always exist when watching movies based upon literature. What you are seeing is not the story as told by the author, but how this one, single director envisions the story.

And apparently, HP's director did not envision Harry Potter with green eyes, or his mother.

message 16: by Ella (new)

Ella Nisker In the books, they don't tell you much about Lily except for the eyes. So really it was the first thing I looked at when I saw her. I got upset. i would give it a 9.

message 17: by Dionna (new)

Dionna | 7 comments Could care less.

message 18: by Aydin (new)

Aydin Sessions (justin_case) | 406 comments I know Dan wouldn't we're contacts, but why couldn't the actress who played lily were some to match dan's eyes

message 19: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 1 comments It didn't bother me too much. Maybe a 2? If that? Movies are never perfect and all come with their flaws. I've just learned to accept it and realize that they made these books into some amazing movies which I'm grateful for.

message 20: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Randall (baddkar) | 10 comments movies are a completely different medium for audit story telling. so many factors to deal with to try and duplicate the books. it's impossible to compare the two. books turned into movies are usually just one persons take on the original story but seen through their eyes.

with that said I wasn't mad about the eye color because it didn't take from the already condensed story. I was more bugged by the final fight scene if anything because they left out Harry's awesome verbal assault on voldy.

message 21: by no one (new)

no one | 5 comments *green
not blue
lol
harry potter fans should know that

message 22: by Ella (new)

Ella Nisker It's weird that they can't at least change lilys eye colour to blue like harrys even if its not green you should at least have them matching if they say "harry you have your mothers eyes"

message 23: by Aydin (new)

Aydin Sessions (justin_case) | 406 comments Exactly, was okay with them not being green; but Lilly's actor could have worn some colored contacts as she appeared very little in the

message 34: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Hyde (rachelwrites93) | 64 comments Such a simple thing.

"Harry, you have your mother's eyes."

WHAT is the point of re-iterating that statement if it's not bloody shown?!

Give the girl contacts for Christ's sakes she's only in the film five seconds! Gahhh just ruins continuity.

I'm not actually that mad about it.

Yeah I am. It's stoopid.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

One. I don't really care.

message 36: by May͛a (new)

May͛a (rhapsodyinblue) To be honest the fact did irritate me a little bit. No, not a little, a lot actually. I'd go with beyond the scale

his hair is dark as a blackboard,
I wish he was mine,
he's so devine,
the hero who conquered the dark lord."

message 41: by Julia (new)

Julia | 180 comments Out of ten? Like a 14, maybe a 15. It was made worse, too, because in the book Snape says, “Look at me,” then he dies. In the movie, he says, “Look at me.... You have your mother’s eyes,” then he dies.

AND THEN HER EYES ARE BROWN!!!!

message 42: by Megan (new)

Megan Cheang | 63 comments 1. I was more concerned with emotion Snape was displaying.

message 43: by anya (new)

anya 10.... first I’m mad that Harry didn’t have blue eyes, then he doesn’t even have his mother’s eyes? That’s just disappointing

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

deleted user wrote: "Its kind of annoying- they could've at least picked some one who had blue eyes if not green"

Green eyes are extremely rare, so it's highly unlikely for them to get an actress with them. Blue eyes would be ideal, but they don't necessarily need a different actor, just contacts or special effects.

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd say about.... 2.. Sure, she was supposed to have green eyes, but it's a small detail. Lilly was a pretty small role too, even if she did have a great impact in the movies and books, she hardly ever made an appearance in the movies. It's only not that big of a deal. I'd rather have them use their time and skill for other things than just making it so the actor has the same colored eyes. The movies are never an exact remake of the books. This should be obvious. They already change a lot of things to actually make the movie possible, so if all they did was change the colors of someone's eyes in the movie, it doesn't really bother me.

message 46: by Lilli Gilliam (new)

Lilli Gilliam well, that isn't really noticeable. HARRY HOWEVER WAS VERY NOTICABLE!!!! I'M SORRY TO THE ACTOR WHO PLAYED HARRY (FORGOT HIS NAME TO BE HONEST) BUT YA DIDN'T COMPLETELY PLAY HARRY

Matty Bebopper | 21 comments EXCUSE PLEASE?

message 48: by C (new)

C | 52 comments 1, for a few reasons.

- I thought the actress made too good of a Lily to even notice the wrong eye color.

- The whole point was supposed to be that Lily an Harry had the same eye color, but Dan Radcliffe’s eyes were blue anyway so that’s just thrown out the window.

- I never got why the whole green eye thing was made out to be so important in the books anyway.

message 49: by anise (last edited Jun 04, 2020 07:35AM) (new)

anise I'm not that bothered...but Harry having blue eyes bugs me way more. Speaking of which, didn’t lots of people go, “Oh, Harry, you have your mother's eyes.” in the movies?? That just doesn’t work.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Ummm if she had brown eyes then I'm mad ona scale of 200 to 10 bc shes supppsed to have green eyes.
