Debra Edwards | 23 comments Can someone help with the details of listopia? I've added my books to the appropriate lists and voted on others, but how do I get others to vote on my book? Also, is this how it's used?

Ken (kendoyle) | 347 comments I've never figured out how to ask friends to vote on a specific book either, so I'd be interested to find out as well.

There's no way to invite them to vote on a specific book, but you can invite them to vote on a list. If you go to any of the lists, a little ways down on the right is an area titled "friends votes" or something similar. In there is a link, "see what your friends think". Click that, and it will take you to a page where you can select friends to invite to vote on the list, and a message area where you can say, "my book is on this list" or somesuch.

I should also add that you should make doubly sure the book fits the list, and carefully read the list description. It's also worth going down to the list comments area and check out some of the comments.

This is probably obvious, but some do consider it bad form to put your own book on "best of" lists and similar.

Debra Edwards | 23 comments Christa, still not getting anywhere. Went to all lists then lists my friends have voted on, but no link on the page to invite them??? Help!

Hmmm... it's possible that author accounts are unable to access list invites. That didn't occur to me until now.

Debra Edwards | 23 comments Since I listed last comment I have been playing a bit more and have now found the link. It only shows 5 friends even though I have around 135. Does it only show those who have voted on books?

I don't think so - all 53 of my friends show up in that invite box.
