Carmen strolled through the town, wearing a shirt that ess ripped at the ribs and jeans that had the same rip pattern at the calf.

Sam walked around the town looking around a look of confusion and wonder. He was wondering how he got out of the city.

Carman saw him and frowned. Who the heck was he?

Sam noticed a girl walking and walked toward her,"Hey. Sorry to bother but....hoe do I get out of this city?" he asked taking a look around.

She scoffed. "You can't." she said, looking down. she wasn't used to talking to people.

"What do mean I can't?" he asked looking back at her.

"You can't." she repeated, her wide blue eyes coming up to meet his.

He stared back at her for a second then sighed,"Well thanks." he said rubbing his forehead and started to walk away.

Carmen followed him. "How did you get here? Who are you?"

Sam continued walking,"With a car." he stopped and turned to face her,"And my name is Sam. Sam Hanaway."

"I'm Carmen.' she murmured, blushing as he faced her and looking at the ground.

He smiled softly,"It's nice to meet you Carmen. Now can you tell me if hostage city has a hotel or something?" he asked thinking he was gonna need a place to stay for the night.

Carmen giggled softly. "Just go anywhere, I'm the only one here alive. That's....human." she frowned on the last word. "Make sure there are no skeletons!" she finished cheerfully.

Sam looked at her with disbelief written all over his face,"So....you live here all by yourself?" he asked taking another look around.

"No, there are ghosts and monsters to keep me company." she said cheerfully, but her eyes were overcast.

"Oh how delightful." he said actually believing her. He had always believed in the supernatural,"So what kind of monsters live here?" he asked curiously.

'Cat things... vampires... poltergiests... zombies... werewolves...." she said the last in a mutter

"What was that last one?" he asked feeling creeped out by the zombies.

"Werewolves..." she muttered, slightly louder

"Ah werewolves. Fun people they can be." he said honestly. He knew that werewolves as humans can be either normal like any other person or really squirrely.

Carmen blushed and looked away, not answering.

the wind fluttered her tattered shirt.

Sam smiled softly,"Well considering that you're the only other person here, Do you mind showing me around?" he asked trying to ignore the parts of her shirt that exposed her skin.

She shrugged, not paying attention to the shirt. It didn't show off anything. "Yeah, why not."

He took a step to the side,"Then by all mean. Lead the way." he said gesturing toward the building lined streets.

She began Lessig him to all the stores and hotels. At a tiny little dinner, she said, "Here's where I live."

"Must smell like pancakes." he said looking the diner over.

Carmen laughed. "You think anyone's cooking?" she giggled, eyeing him.

"I'd like to think so." he smiled looking over at her.

She rolled her eyes. "Well, no one is. If you need to, you can stay with me."

"Hmm stay in a diner. I will graciously accept your offer." he said turning to her making a small bowing movement.

Carmen rolled her eyes but flushed slightly. " Then come in." she said. She showed him the main room. "Here's where you can sleep." ans then pointed to a little lean to, who's door was a quilt. "That's mine."

"Oh how kind." he said walking over and sat down,"So besides the fun monsters around do you ever get lonely?" he asked hoping it wasn't too much of a personal question.
