Jamie Barringer (Ravenmount) (ravenmount) | 48 comments Another World, by Pat Barker. I just found 5 of Barker's books on a community free-books shelf, so I had to check out the audiobooks our library has by Barker too. This one is an audiobook, so I can continue work on my crochet blankets this evening.

Jacob | 7 comments Babbitt by Sinclair Lewis. I'd read (and loved) Main Street years ago, and then started Babbitt but stopped. When the NY Times ran a long article on Lewis in the book review last weekend, I decided to pick up Babbitt where I left off.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 104 comments Just starting 1984 by George Orwell. It's a reread but the first time I read it was back in high school.

By coincidence, I also just started a Dostoevsky novel, The Idiot.
I think the title is misleading; the main character is just guileless and friendly (so far), he doesn't seem actually stupid. I've previously read his Brothers K, Crime & Punishment and Notes from Underground, so this will leave me just The Devils of the five Dostoevskys in the Boxall list.

message 5635: by Luke (new)

Luke (korrick) I've started Jazz by Toni Morrison.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 104 comments Starting King Solomon's Mines just a little later than intended; hopefully I'll finish while it's still being discussed!
