I'm the same as you loved Remains of the day and also have never let me go which I'll be starting soon :)

Started A Gate at the Stairs a couple of days ago. Not sure what I think of it yet, though the translation I'm reading seems to be pretty bad.
I also started Freedom by Jonathan Franzen on my kindle and 1001 Nights on Audio.

This is one of my favorite books. It could be that before Jerry Garcia died, I did follow the Dead around (and the remaining band members after his death). I love Kesey and the Pranksters. :)

Is it good "reading" Don Quixote on audio book? I'm reading the actual book and as it's obviously translated and quite old it has lots of footnotes to explain the gaps in language and unfamiliar translations, being that it's an audio book you're listening to i suppose you don't get footnotes? Does it make it difficult to understand? How long is the audio book? I've been reading this book forever now and can't wait to finish!
Started The Baron in the Trees, the final part of Our Ancestors: The Cloven Viscount, The Baron in the Trees, The Non-Existent Knight.

I am currently reading this one, too. Very intriguing!

ME TOO!!"
I love her as well! I've read all of her books except for Mansfield Park. So far, Pride and Prejudice is still my favorite book of all time.

Also, The Pleasant History of Thomas of Reading, which I do not have high hopes for.

Maybe it would be easier to catalogue which of us do not like Austen. Probably for another thread. I too love her work.

Intimacy: das Buch zum Film von Patrice Chéreau
I'm reading the English version of this novel, not the German.

Since the main character works in a bookstore, there are a lot of literary references, and I'm terrible at keeping track of these for my Group friends. One notable so far has been our recent Group read: The Forsyte Saga.
