For me the middle portions of the book were a bit less exciting. Perhaps not enough separate detail on daily life and events.
I just started this section. So far it's been a decent read, but I'm hoping for it to hold my attention more now that Jane has met Edward (so it's kind of sad to read that the middle portions may be less exciting).
well I guess there was less "new" information about Jane herself so only less exciting by contrast with the first part and the edn.All of it was enjoyable

The hanging of John Stacy and Thomas Burdett was an event that many viewed as entertainment, it seems. What does this say about a society that would view the public killing of humans as a spectacle?
