I'm supposed to be writing some character interviews and I'm playing with the idea for a "Dateline" style show called "Fantasyline" with host Sam Smarmy. I need ideas for questions that will interest readers.

Question: If you could ask your favorite fantasy characters any sort of question, what would it be?

This is my ultimate question for the male characters,

What's your message to all the readers who are fangirling over you?

Ali | 19 comments gosh that's a question i never thought about in all the years i've been an avid reader...always wanted to know why the author would do things never the other way around..hmmm maybe i'm still too grounded in reality for those kinda experiments

i'll keep my mind open from now on though, maybe something will jump out at me with other questions from readers

CC, LOL. Okay, I'll put that on my list of potential questions. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Ali,
It's required me to examine my perspective too. I write primarily in one character's perspective so these character interviews are tough.

Treat it as if you were Oprah or Jay or someone like that. Just ask the character the same type questions they would have asked.

Jay: So, Mr. Gandolf--what age were you when you realized that you were a wizard?

Gandolf: Well Jay, I did my first small act of magic at the age of 5. I accidently turned my nursemaid into a turtle for a few days.

Jay (laughing): Yes, I think that would do it. How did the nursemaid handle it?

Gandolf: Fortunately she was an Elf, so took it in stride. Since she WAS an elf, and consequently very difficult to force a shape shift on, everyone realized that I was extremely powerful, so I was sent to study with Elrod.

Something like that.

Ali, Thanks. :)

Ann,
LOL! That's too funny. I think you're better suited to write one than I am. :)

J.A. Kenney (jennyakenney) | 38 comments Questions like those on a dating site can be really FUN with fictional characters.:

What is your favorite color?
Perfect first date?
Ideal spouse?
How would you describe yourself?

Etc...

Thanks, great ideas. I'll include a few of these in the interview with my hero. :)

I have one of the interviews done. If anyone is willing to read it and provide me with feedback, it's only 750 words and I'd really appreciate the help. Just send me a message via Goodreads. :)
