On the Way to the Wedding (Bridgerton #8), by Julia Quinn; Start Date: August 22, 2013

Epilogue - ch 6
1. What a dramatic beginning to a book! Gregory is running down the street and bursts into church to stop the wedding. My heart did a little flop right then. What are your thoughts?
2. What do you think about Miss Hermione Watson and her fabled beauty? I must say, I'm a little tired of hearing how every man who sees her fall in love with her.
3. Nigel Berbrooke has got to be one of the funniest characters I've met. I want him to have a happy ending. (Even though he was handsy when we first met him)
4. Kate saw the possibility of Lucy and Gregory right away! Didn't you wan to shake him for trying to rationalize his thoughts of her away?
5. Snapdragons!! Hermione admits there may be something about Gregory that she likes and she's having almost second thoughts of Mr Edmonds. But really, who could have resisted Gregory when he was telling her about his made up dream? I laughed so hard at that!

Great! I can't wait to talk about it!

However, I'll wait to answer your DQs until it is time, Susan.
BTW, don't you mean "prologue" instead of "epilogue"? (That threw me; I was sleepy enough to think you'd covered it all. LOL!)
Sorry, I didn't get the Chapter Breakdown up. You went a little over (must have a lot of extra stuff at the end of your Kindle version). So, I'll break it down into three days.
I'll do the second set of DQs. And maybe the third, unless anyone else wants a go at it.

I had that thought too when I read the blurb.

Yes, it made me stumble over it when I read this book the first time. However, NOW it is driving me batty because I just listened to the first two Harry Potter books for a challenge. The narrator has an English accent for them and the one reading OtWttW has one too!!!! I double-think each and every time he says her name. LMBO!

Awwww.... Feel better Lisa *hug*

I had this same problem when I read this book xD

1. What a dramatic beginning to a book! Gregory is running down the street and bursts into church to stop the wedding. My heart did a little flop right then. What are your thoughts?
I thought it was different! What does she say? Could it be anything other than, “Yes!”?
2. What do you think about Miss Hermione Watson and her fabled beauty? I must say, I'm a little tired of hearing how every man who sees her fall in love with her.
Strangely, I remember it bothering me the first time I read this book. However, this time I pretty much just tuned it out.
3. Nigel Berbrooke has got to be one of the funniest characters I've met. I want him to have a happy ending. (Even though he was handsy when we first met him.)
LOL! Okay.
4. Kate saw the possibility of Lucy and Gregory right away! Didn't you want to shake him for trying to rationalize his thoughts of her away?
Yes! Idiot.
5. Snapdragons!! Hermione admits there may be something about Gregory that she likes and she's having almost second thoughts of Mr Edmonds. But really, who could have resisted Gregory when he was telling her about his made up dream? I laughed so hard at that!
Very true; who could resist? Still, I think it shows that Hermione is much more immature than Lucy. Yes, that dream was hilarious. At least he got her attention. She seems a bit of an air bubble.

(*^▽^*) it was very subtle Lisa, I only realized it because I read it back to back.

I will ask these, though.
Lisa Kay’s Questions for Chapter 7 - Epilogue
6. Richard and Hermione?! And Gregory went to save her? Comments.
7. Do you felt the story changed in tone anywhere along the line? If so, where?
8. Did you like the love scene? Lucy risking her reputation? Was it this that caused Gregory not to give up on her – despite her having gone through with the wedding?
9. Eep! What about Lord Davenport saying he'd make sure Lucy would get him an heir, even if he had to do it himself. And Uncle Robert saying he’d watch it consummated at gun-point, if need be.
10. Finally the wedding scene. What did you think about Lord Halsbey, Lucy's fiancé? Did he do the right thing at the altar in leaving it up to her? Do you blame him for anything?
11. Colin’s role? Too brief, for sure, but otherwise?
12. The water closet scene? BOOK QUOTE: “I would trust you with my life, Lucy, but not your own.” Comments.
13. What about Hyacinth wanting to ruin Lucy? Then her epiphany about Lucy and Gregory's love and wanting to help? Comments.
14. Did you see the twist with Robert Abernathy, Lucy and Richard’s uncle? Did you like the way Gregory stood up to Lord Davenport?
15. How did you like the epilogue? (I loved it; but I don’t think ShoSho did very much.)

6. Richard and Hermione?! And Gregory went to save her? Comments.TOTALLY threw me for a loop! What on earth possessed her to do that? She was in love" with someone else. I thought it was out of character. As for Gregory going to save her, of course he'd do that, he's a Bridgerton ;)
7. Do you felt the story changed in tone anywhere along the line? If so, where? not really. Obviously you feel it did, Lisa Kay. Where do you think it did?
8. Did you like the love scene? Lucy risking her reputation? Was it this that caused Gregory not to give up on her – despite her having gone through with the wedding? I did like the love scene. I'm not sure why he didn't give up on her though. It was a slap in the face to him that she continued on with her plans
9. Eep! What about Lord Davenport saying he'd make sure Lucy would get him an heir, even if he had to do it himself. And Uncle Robert saying he’d watch it consummated at gun-point, if need be.YUCK!!!
10. Finally the wedding scene. What did you think about Lord Halsbey, Lucy's fiancé? Did he do the right thing at the altar in leaving it up to her? Do you blame him for anything?I blame him for not standing up to his father in the first place for his treatment of Lucy. It was appalling. I did like that he didn't seem upset by the goings on
11. Colin’s role? Too brief, for sure, but otherwise? much too brief :)
12. The water closet scene? BOOK QUOTE: “I would trust you with my life, Lucy, but not your own.” Comments.I think it's very true. He knew Lucy would sacrifice her life to make everyone else happy and disregard what she wanted. She did it by going through with the wedding
13. What about Hyacinth wanting to ruin Lucy? Then her epiphany about Lucy and Gregory's love and wanting to help? Comments. I was surprised by Hyacinth's attitude and actions in here. She was really angry on Gregory's behalf. I liked that.
14. Did you see the twist with Robert Abernathy, Lucy and Richard’s uncle? Did you like the way Gregory stood up to Lord Davenport? Didn't see the twist coming until it was there. I did like the way Gregory told Davenport to shut it. Too bad his son hadn't done that earlier.
15. How did you like the epilogue? (I loved it; but I don’t think ShoSho did very much.) I didn't care for it. It was funny that they had 9 children though :)

"Seven was a perfectly fine number of children, and, as he told Lucy, he could barely recall what she looked like when she wasn’t expecting."

#6 – Yes, when I read it the first time, I was totally shocked, too! I can remember wondering if the clerk/secretary has just been a front for her love of Richard. But, nope. I think JQ covered it nicely that her feelings for Gregory were just a side effect of Hermione not really being in love. But, it made me worry about the fate of Richard and Hermione’s marriage.
#7 – Actually, I felt it changed several times. But, of course, June gave me some insight into this. I just felt it was disjointed in its pacing. And Gregory making a pass at Lucy the night of the Richard and Hermione reveal? Plus, they were brandishing around guns? Really?
#8 – Yes, I loved the love scene. I would have liked some little something (more) from his POV on why he didn’t give up on her.
#9 – I think it is the month of the “ick” factor! LOL!! Right?
#10 – And yet, Lucy was going to fix him up with the right woman. She’d better be destitute.
#12 – Yes. I actually thought that was pretty smart of him, but worried about her… that is always dangerous, if there is no one to come let her go. Anything could have happened.
#13 – Yes, she showed her loyalty. She stood behind him, come what may.
#15 – One more than his parents!

Next year in August we can have a challenge "August:Ick Factor month" and we can read book that have ick factor in them . It can have levels like: Ick , Ewwww , Ughhhh , .... and so on!
A funny thing happened...
Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton believes in true love. And he is convinced that when he finds the woman of his dreams, he will know in an instant that she is the one. And that is exactly what happened. Except...
She wasn't the one. In fact, the ravishing Miss Hermione Watson is in love with another. But her best friend, the ever-practical Lady Lucinda Abernathy, wants to save Hermione from a disastrous alliance, so she offers to help Gregory win her over. But in the process, Lucy falls in love. With Gregory! Except...
Lucy is engaged. And her uncle is not inclined to let her back out of the betrothal, even once Gregory comes to his senses and realizes that it is Lucy, with her sharp wit and sunny smile, who makes his heart sing. And now, on the way to the wedding, Gregory must risk everything to ensure that when it comes time to kiss the bride, he is the only man standing at the altar...
