This thread is for suggestions and questions for the various categories. The thread for the participants is located HERE.


1. "A" is for August: Read a book that starts with 'A' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'A'.

2. Member of the Month: Tina "coffee and books" - Tina"coffee and books" has been a member of the RRRC since June 2010. Here is the link to Tina"coffee and books"'s shelves - Tina"coffee and books"'s shelves. Please read a book from any of Tina "coffee and books"'s shelves or a book published in 2010.

3. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from Kentucky.
Fun Facts about Kentucky:
A. The first Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant owned and operated by Colonel Sanders is located in Corbin.
B. Kentucky is the state where both Abraham Lincoln, President of the Union, and Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy, were born. They were born less than one hundred miles and one year apart.
C. More than $6 billion worth of gold is held in the underground vaults of Fort Knox. This is the largest amount of gold stored anywhere in the world.

You may also read a book that is set in a food industry or where food plays an important part in the story, or where a main character is involved in politics, or where one of the main character is wealthy.

4. Girlfriend's Day (August 1st): Read a romance novel or a book with a female on the cover.

5. National Night Out (August 3rd): Read a book where the main characters meet at a bar, nightclub or at a party or a book with a black cover.

6. Work Like a Dog Day (August 5th): Read a book where the main characters work together or read a book with a dog on the cover.

7. National Relaxation Day (August 15): Read a novella or read a book you've been meaning to get to or read a book where a main character is on vacation.

8. Best Friends Day (August 15): Read a book with a friends to lovers theme or where a friend plays an important role in the book.

9. Be An Angel Day (August 22nd): Read a book with angels or one that has angels in the book title/series title or read a book where a main character does something nice or helps someone in need (can be physical help or emotional help).

10. Readers Choice:


You can choose 3, 5, 8 or all 10 categories depending on your reading speed, book availability and/or time commitment.

When posting your challenge progress, please make sure to put the date/s when you finished your book/s.
