What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I was listening to talk radio recently (maybe it was yesterday, July 25, I listen to parts of programs every day as I drive places).
On the program they were talking about an author who had written a book about technology and the way it is affecting people. He became alarmed when he realized that he was having a hard time concentrating to read fiction.
I'm not sure how much of the program I heard was about the book and how much was personal stories the hosts told about their experiences with too much email/checking ipods/etc.

I knew I should have written the title down when I stopped the car !
I get the feeling it began with an "S" , but I could be completely wrong.
Hopefully someone else heard the show. I only heard about 10 minutes of it, so I'm not much help.
