My name is Victoria, but feel free to call me Tori.

I'm a blind, vegetarian author of children's books and poetry.

Born in the shadow of the Black Mountains in Wales, I now live near the sea in the South-East of England with my husband, Kelly, a West Highland White Terrier named Keroberous, and four degus whose names are Jacob, Jasper, Jenks and Joshua.

You can find out more about me and my books via my author thread in this group.

Christine Brallier (christinebrallier) | 2 comments " Hello all! I recently released my first children's book, The Night Before Christmas, by Clement C. Moore and illustrated by me with my stained glass mosaics. It is unlike any other book with colorful glass pieces as the medium! It took me four years to finish, I hope you will take a look. I'm very proud of it! It's here on my author page where you'll also find a link to my blog with more information. I posted a book give-away which is currently pending, but look for it soon. Thanks :)

I am a retired elementary school teacher of 33 years who is living the dream and writing and illustrating picture books. I also have a blog where I review picture books.

Welcome to the group; I'm glad you joined!

Feel free to post about your children's books (both the one you've already published, and the one due out in July) in the "From Authors to Readers" section of the group, to make sure they get noticed by anyone looking for new reads.

Claudine Carmel (claudinecarmel) | 10 comments Hello, my name is Claudine. I love reading and I read many different genres, but I have a special fondness for children's books and children's TV shows. My favorite authors from my childhood are Michael Rosen, Roald Dahl, Raymond Briggs and Jill Barklem. I'm always looking for more books to read and I'm drawn to beautiful illustrations. The children's authors I've been reading (and enjoying very much) lately are Wendy Mass, Oliver Jeffers and Julia Donaldson. I'm originally from England and I've lived in California for the past 9 years. I'm a Children's author, I cook, paint and I have a brilliant Boston Terrier who keeps me company.
It's very nice to meet you all,
Claudine

I'm new to Goodreads and am especially fond of children's books (picture books, middle grade etc.) and felt this was a good opportunity for networking. I have been studying children's book writing and illustrating just recently and dream of one day being published myself. Looking forward to chatting with the group and discovering new books/authors/illustrators.

Christine Ieronimo Hi, my name is Christine Ieronimo. I am a lover of children's picture books. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group. I am a mother of 4 and have not only spent that last 15 years reading them to and with my children, but I also just published my first book. It is one of my biggest accomplishments. After adopting my daughter from Ethiopia and finding her drinking from a puddle in our driveway, I was inspired to write A Thirst For Home, A Story of Water Across the World. I wrote it because I felt children here needed to be more aware of water, its scarcity and the different ways people get it around the world. I spend much time visiting schools and sharing my our story. I would love your feedback if you are interested in reading it. It is in many libraries around the country. Thanks so much and happy reading. My all time very favorite children's book is from my childhood and titled, Christine Katrina & The Box. :)

message 36: by Lora (new)

Lora Rozler (lorarozler) | 6 comments I am very excited to share the news of my recently released picture book, Words. It is a story about a letter's journey to find meaning. As it encounters various letter combinations, it must decide between two distinct paths. As a teacher, I have too often seen how children sometimes throw words around, not realizing their impact on others. Words is a simple way to encapsulate the power of words. I would absolutely love your reviews and feedback! It is available on major online retailers: http://wordspublishing.ca/order-page/

Feel free to post about your book in the "from authors to readers" section, and - if you're still offering oppertunities for authors to do interviews and guest posts - feel free to post about your blog, and how people can contact you if they're interested, in the "oppertunities for authors" section.

Gordon Bagshaw (gordonbagshaw) | 6 comments Hi everyone, I recently joined the group but mistakenly posted my introduction in the wrong thread. Thank you for your kind guidance Victoria. My name is Gordon Bagshaw, and I am quite excited to discover this group's existence in Goodreads. I'm a Canadian, living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I teach adult English, but when I'm not doing that, I am a comic strip gallery author and a children's book illustrator. Here is a book I did the illustration for: Sleepy Time for Mammals

I also created the book trailer for this children's book

See the official book trailer
