I see.
Regan's death is indeed unexpected and violent, I did hope JM had not killed off this character. The way he died (decapitated) left no hope for any magic to bring him back, very sad. But then it doesn't make sense why an intelligent man did not think to wear a disguise to live among enemies who could recognize him. I would be more convinced if he had died from other cause.

From where the story ended, I would guess that Flint was preparing for the final showdown; retrieving Regon's head and returning to Shadowfell. Flint is obviously more capable than Tali so he should be the leader.
I do hope the last book does not disappoint especially in terms of logical development of story. To be free of the glitch in Book 2: the death of Regon because it didn't cross his intelligent mind to wear a disguise.
I find such glitches very frustrating in books which I like. It tarnished the brilliance of the story, leaves a bitter taste.

I liked how she made it seem so.... easy for him to get captured. It showed the characters flaw and how he wasn't invincible and ended up dying since he was too confident. :/

I really was upset when Regan died, and also hoped that he was still alive somehow. Regan was so very interesting a character and there were so many questions still surounding him. But having him die suddenly like that is very like how it is in real life.

It was sadly realistic. Except, one thing, and that is Neryn seems to describe it in such an orderly way the tragedy seems shrunken. I think Flint (or Owen) is really taking a chance by retrieving, er, Regan's disembodied head and taking it to Shadowfell...
-Jacqueline-Agreed. Wouldn't a disguise be more logical? Hrm.
