CALL OF THE WILD

To most, they are animals even when in human form. They are to be collared and kept on the fringes of society, scorned because they are feared, hated for their extraordinary powers. And attorney Kim Fraser has to go right into the heart of their lair.

It is her job to defend those in need. But there is absolutely nothing defenseless about Liam Morrissey. His soft Irish lilt and feline grace can t disguise his sheer strength. Nor can the silver chain at his throat, designed to control the aggression of his kind, completely reassure her that this man has been tamed.

Yet when a feral shifter begins to stalk them both, Liam is the only one she trusts with her life. She'll let him claim her for her protection, for her pride, and for a passion that knows no bounds.

I read this quite a while ago. From what I remember, I really liked it! Enjoy :)

I am going to hold off on starting this to see if I can get it to fit in a team challenge this weekend.

I got this one on my kindle...when to read it is the issue. I am still only 1/2 into Magic Rises.

I really wish my library had this one :( I hope you guys really enjoy the book :)

can't you recommend to you library? Mine allows us to "suggest a book" and then they order the book

You know I don't know if I can do that. I'm going to go check that out right now.

Mine also lets us suggest a book. But they also have inter-library loans that the can let you check it out from another nearby library system.

It didn't fit into words with friends so I'm not starting it today.

That also bothered me at first but I got used to it.

I finished this one. I don't know, it happened kinda quick with Kim and Liam. (view spoiler)[
I felt the heroine Kim was inconsistent. She was independent enough to go and try to build her career. She was independent enough to have sex with a lowly shifter the day after she met him, even though she had a boyfriend. But she let said boyfriend treat her like crap and she took it, even though the shifters couldn't get her to shut up and follow orders. I don't know if I bought her as such a strong gal...but we all gotta start somewhere. (hide spoiler)]

I just started last night only about 60 pages in. The feral cat just got killed by Liam in Kim's bedroom.

Yeah, Ezi the skin to skin contact seams a bit weird. But I could totally see cat shifters being that way. House cats are all about touching.

Did anyone else notice as they were walking down the street when the kids are playing in the pool with the dogs. I've never read a shifter book where they have other species pets (well ok, one but the pets came with the human woman to the relation ship and the lion shifter had to tolerate them if he wanted to keep the girl) . Usually other animals cower around shifters.


I am a little bothered by the collars. It seams weird that a whole species would just allow themselves to be collared and put in as second class citizens. I know it was 20 years ago, but I would have thought if they were going to come out in the open they would have been prepared to fight for equal rights. Their not allowed certain jobs, not allowed to go to college, not allowed smart phones or cable... Not really a believable world so far.

I read this last year I think but I liked the 2nd one a lot better also the 4th one is really good

Ok so correction to my earlier comment I was at page 50 not 60. Page 53 explained a bit why they took them and I am sensing there is more about them that hasn't been explained.


Kim isn't real believable so far. Her friends buy her thong underwear that she keeps but doesn't wear? She didn't even think about her boyfriend during the night or while teaching Liam to French kiss.


I did find it a little refreshing that Liam didn't know how to French kiss. He may be the big alpha male, but he isn't the perfect all knowing woman pleaser.

I agree with Kim. She wasn't written consistently. I liked the Liam though.

I'm not a cat person in real life more of a dog person, but I got over the skin to skin thing.

Ok so I finished. The ending wrapped up the whole collar issue. It really bothered me in the beginning, but I see why it had to be.

The book was ok, but not amazing. I will probably read more of the series but I am not going to be rushing out to get it.

I just finished book 5 in this series Tiger Magic

I will read book 2 as well
