Snoozie Suzie (snooziesuzie) | 937 comments I've reserved it at the library - I'm 393 of 393. I might buy it for 99p instead!

Jkmays I just finished this book...really liked it but will wait for others to finish before discussing.

Jkmays Is anybody reading this...I am thinking there are wait lists at the library maybe?

Mary I have already read this & I loved it! Khaled Hosseini is 1 of my favorite authors & this is now 1 of my favorite books.

Sarah | 18550 comments I'm hoping to read it before the month is out.

Tasha (tasha28) | 12 comments I enjoyed it. However I have to confess I preferred his other books more.

Jkmays I find that even though I like the book, I would have to reread it without distractions to get the most from it. the way he jumps around, I get confused about what happens. So I will maybe read it again when I can just focus on that for a day or two.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I have read all of this author's books and of the three the one I enjoyed, if one could use that word, was his second book.

As for And the Mountains Echoed, this certainly was story telling at its best but to me the storytelling became this books major flaw. I was so immersed in the story I was reading and then to move on to the next story as much as it was interconnected, left me a bit befuddled and wanting to be back with the previous characters. Hosseini left me confused and never really sure where he was headed and while some stories were fine, others were rather irrelevant. Still this was a good book just not as good as his first two efforts.

Rachel this is a good book that is worth reading but in my opinion, it lacks the emotional impact of The Kite Runner which is one of my favorite books.

although each of the stories was connected in some way-i thought the author tried to focus on too many characters

Carly Svamvour (faganlady) | 121 comments I was lucky - I saw the title on one of the book ads at the right side of the screen - went right into the library and put a hold on the CD audio - it was in my lily white hands in a few days.

This is the book that I declare as being my favourite of the year.

I'd love to do this again, if anybody's interested in coming back to this discussion.

Loved it! 4/5.

This one has a spot on my Keepers Shelf, along with "The Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns." I read everything by Khaled Hosseini!
