Welcome to the Snow Crash thread....I gotta admit I have a special place in my heart for Cyberpunk, and this book is so far dang intriguing!

Please join in with your thoughts!

LindaJ^ (lindajs) | 260 comments This was my first Neal Stephenson book and first cyberpunk book and I loved it. I still remember sitting in a Thai restaurant being so enthralled in my reading that I almost forgot the eat my meal! It was around the time that Second Life was enjoying its most popular days. I can see how a virtual world might be perceived as much more exciting than the real world.

I agree Linda- I loved the concept of being plugged in to a totally different place and time. Although it isnt dwelt upon, the avatars were very funny!

I really loved the concept of language development and that Babel was a Virus---very thought provoking!

Martin (wollerstam) | 5 comments I've read about halfway through now, and I absolutely love it. I've been meant to read some Neal Stephenson and I do have a special place in my heart for cyberpunk, so I'm very happy getting this reading tip.

no worries Martin!

I still keep thinking about this book-great stuff! Even the little bot of romance was done well...Usually sex is cheap in cyber punk land...lol

Very late to the party - I've just started this! The first few chapters I have enjoyed, and I haven't yet run into the issues I had with the Cryptonomicon.

George (wegason) | 33 comments My first Neal Stephenson book and second cyberpunk book and I loved it (I didn't enjoy my first). Concept was strong, I liked Hiro and YM. Great read.

Alexa (AlexaNC) | 302 comments I found this to be an amusing read, but upon reflection the whole thing was rather two-dimensional. And the ending was such a disappointment!
