So I was just reading the latest reviews for books people had put up and someone just finished Eclipse. They gave just a one sentence review but it gave away a key piece of information I didn't know about yet. I'm about three quarters of the way through the book. What a b*tch! I didn't need to know that- especially because it was not the ending I would have hoped for. Yeww!

Vicki I am sorry.. I hate knowing the ending of a book and try to stay away from those kinds of reviews, but like you , I am sure, I would never expect it from a one sentence review.. On the upside, you still have Breaking Dawn left, and it's hopefully unspoiled.

Irene... any time Ive read someones review and realised it gave away "spoilers", I sent them messages to retract the information or mark it as spoiler. WHen they refuse, I email Otis to inform him.

That is just cruel and uncalled for. I HATE HATE HATE being spoiled!!!

Isn't there a "button" you can click in your review if it contains a spoiler? That way it gets hidden to unsuspecting eyes...

message 5: by Tom (new)

Tom (tommyro) I was reading The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood and I stupidly looked up The New York Times review, which gave away key plot points. How arrogant and rude is that?!

Cindy (cyndil62) | 253 comments Ah Irene, What a bummer! I think you should take Lori's advice and send the person a message! Are you enjoying the books though???

message 7: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) This is why I try not to read reviews before reading a book now. I've come across quite a few spoilers by reading them in advance. I will only look at the summary and the overall rating of the book. If I feel like risking it I will lightly skim the first few reviews, but that's it. Unfortunately, some people take pleasure in ruining things for others.

GracieKat | 864 comments I hate that! I usually check the spoiler box or else at least put it in big words at the beginning.

Jensownzoo | 338 comments I had something similar happen with that same series, Irene, but it wasn't a review, it was someone I work with who let something very important slip about the last novel when she knew that I had just started the first. It is going to color how I experience the whole series, now.

GracieKat | 864 comments I was listening to two people talk about The Sixth Sense when it first came out and they totally let the whole secret of the movie slip. I was so mad.
