Okay, I think this will be easier then a poll. Nominate at least three Steinbeck books you would like to read. Since he does have some shorter books if you feel that you could read two or three short books then add that. Try to make your nomination like this:

Example:
June: Grapes of Wrath
July: Cannery Row and the Pearl
August: The Winter of DIscontent

I will set up a poll with the suggestions made. Remember it's okay if you don't read all the books for Steinbeck summer. We could even do a Steinbeck summer in 2010! He has written enough books that we could do that.

Nominations are open! I will close nominations on May 21st.

Sandra (sanddune) June: Grapes of Wrath
July: To A God Unknown and The Moon is Down
August: East of Eden

Also want to read Travels with Charley

Shannon SA (shannonsa) Agree with Sandra:
June: Grapes of Wrath
July: To a God Unknown and The Moon is Down
August: East of Eden

And you've got my vote for Steinbeck Summer 2010!

Christina Stind I'm with Sandra and Shannon - sounds like a nice line-up.
I would also like to read Travels with Charley...

Darren (darren34) | 1 comments Personally I'd avoid Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden. The three I'd choose are 'To a God Unknown', 'Pastures of Heaven' and 'The Long Valley'. All three contain some of Steinbeck's most beautiful writing. Also 'Travels with Charley' and 'The Pearl'. I know that's five but there's just too much to choose from!

Shelley (shelleylynn) Okay there are WAY to many to choose from but if I "have" to pick I choose:

June: Grapes of Wrath
July: Cannery Row & Tortilla Flats
August: Pastures of Heaven & To a God Unknown.

Oh so many to choose- I guess I would like to do more of his shorter novels.. I am up for what ever is chosen.
