Self Challenge: Natasha, 2013

I became aware of the Challenge section yesterday, so I thought I would back myself into a corner by making my private aim public. ...

the challenge section is my baby. not many people use it but the ones who do are keen and happy :D
you are completely flying Natasha, you'll have no issue meeting your goal!

22. 52 in all. One per week. One every 6 days now and I'll be on course. YAY.

And every 6 days - totally doable!! Go Natasha!!

I was wondering that myself, Elle, but the maths was too hard :-)
*Scribbles frantically*
Right: 33 books down. Aiming for 34 by end of August. Then, if I read 5 during September, I'm right on course as 52 in a year is 13 per quarter. ...
*Goes to lie down*

Man Made Language Dale Spender

Thanks, Elle :-)
Man-Made Language is proving a bit of a trial though. It's really interesting (e.g. spinster is supposed to be equivalent to bachelor, however one is negative, the other positive). But it reads like a PhD thesis and hurts my little head.

Thank you, Desley :-) I intend to reach my goal even if this turgid but brilliant hiccup derails me for a few days.

It's a feminist classic. My review.

34 Man Made Language Dale Spender
35 The Doors of Perception Aldous Huxley
36 Written on the Body Jeanette Winterson
37 The Teachings of Don Juan Carlos Castaneda
38 Susie Orbach On Eating Susie Orbach
39 1979 Rhona Cameron
Currently reading:
40 The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 Sue Townsend
By my calculations, 39 is three quarters of 52. We are not quite three quarters of the way through the year yet, so I am now ahead of my target.

It's not actually published yet, Jud, so I guess not. Maybe she'll publish it before the year's out. My sister has FOUR kids, so I won't be getting much reading done over Christmas. ... :-)

Take all the time you can now to get some reading in while you still have it!

Thanks very much, Elle. I knocked off so many books this year that I'd wanted to read for ages. Your challenge is a great idea :-)
