Time to nominate your additional monthly read for October and it's time to mix things up again.

October is the tenth month of the year so for this month, I'm asking for book nominations that have a connection to 10 / Ten

Examples:
The title has 10 / Ten in it.
The title has 10 letters in it.
The title has 10 words in it.
Characters are celebrating their 10 year anniversary in the book.
Characters are meeting at thier 10 year school reunion in the book.

You get the idea right?

- When nomination the book please include the 10 / Ten connection to the book (any book nominated that doesn't have this explained will not be counted).

- When nominating please make sure you include the book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the ' add book / author' link above the comment box.
Your nomination will not count if not in this format.

- Please refrain from nominating any book that is already scheduled to read as part of the Goodreads Choice Award Book Club. These can be found at http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh...

- Please do not nominate a second (or later) book in a series read (as members of the group may not have read the previous books).
Your nomination will be not be counted if you do.

- Only one nomination per person will be accepted (if more than one is nominated, the first book posted will be accepted).

- Nominations will close on Sunday 25th, 5pm GMT and will be followed by a poll.

----------
Books nominated:
Ten Tiny Breaths
The Rosie Project
Americanah
The Orphan Master's Son
Ten Mile River
The Ten-Cent Plague: The Great Comic-Book Scare and How it Changed America

This is a book that needs to be discussed. I will read it though, eventually. But I am all booked up through the year with openings for BOTMs

Sarah | 1467 comments It was the Pulitzer winner. I am not the only one who is enthusiastic about this book. I have the literary community backing me. But it may not be for everyone, I know. Hee, hee;-)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments I just love the idea behind this challenge! I would like to nominate Ten Mile River as the synopsis sounds very interesting and it has word 'ten' in the title :)

Here is the GR synopsis: Ten Mile River by Paul Griffin

A stunning debut novel about survival and friendship on the streets of New York City. Best friends Ray and Jose are not your typical thirteen-year-olds. They've escaped foster care and juvenile detention centers to live on their own together in an abandoned building located near Manhattan Park called Ten-Mile River. With no use for school or families, street-smart Jose and bookish, introspective Ray have everything they need in each other. They are closer than brothers until they meet Trini. She?s smart, beautiful, and confident, and they both fall for her immediately. As tension creeps into their relationship, Ray must struggle to find an identity separate from Jose and try to envision a future for himself beyond Jose and Ten-Mile River.

This is Paul Griffin?s first novel, and his spare moving prose and uncanny ear for authentic dialogue is guaranteed to garner many fans.

Sarah - I'm not saying anything negative about the book. I just think it's great that you're so determined to get others to read it with you. :)

Cathie - Yes! I love this idea. It forces us to be a bit creative with our nominations.

Savanes | 2107 comments I don't have a "ten" book or I'll have to search more thoroughly, however I thought this one was a perfect match: Ten Out of Ten (The Princess Diaries, #10). :D
I didn't include the link to the book because it was worth mentioning, not nominating!! :)

message 31: by Annabel (new)

Annabel (kirbyland1986) They all look good ... That's a hard choice I have to think about it a bit longer
