KrisT | 553 comments It has been a while and wondered how everyone was doing with their *intention* word??? I started out strong and kept my word to the forefront for a long time but recently let it slide a bit. Then I read a short book on another subject and I feel all rejuvenated again and because that book has me thinking of things I want to do and change and be it has given me a second wind at my *intention*.

So how is everyone doing?

Holli I was just thinking about this the other day...I'm seriously slacking on how I present myself to the world but I've been really good at being present in my every day life.

Nadia A (bagambo) Hiya! I am not too sure what you mean by an intention word. Do you mean a word that we choose that represents what our goal is for a specific project? Just curious because I hadn't seen any other posts regarding intention words (or maybe I just haven't found that post?).

Sandra (sanddune) I echo Nadia. Very curious also.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) I finally narrowed mine down a month or so ago to: Simplicity, Clarity, Harmony. I posted mine in the header of my blog so I can be reminded of them. I figured one will bring the other and so on. The more I simplify (not just with stuff, ie worry less) the more clarity I will have about our home and my life's direction all of which will bring harmony! (At least I hope so, lol!)

Start with one and then work on the next!

KrisT | 553 comments I just saw a little journal called "intentions + goals" from a company called Paper +.(or Paperplus) It looks kind of cool so if anyone is having some trouble focusing you might try a journal type book that asks questions and space to write.

Lori Walker I decided that I'm going to add finish to my intention words--finish books (and get rid of them if I am ambivalent or negative about them), finish bottles of lotion and shampoo, finish projects, goals, and classes to the best of my ability. I think it fits.

I am also still working on grace and individual. I think I should make some cards with those words and write what they mean to me and how I am going to personify/do that word.

Holli Lori, here's a trick for your unused conditioners if you have them: they work great to shave your legs with!

I write things on my mirror with dry erase markers so that I see it first thing in the morning and every time I enter the bathroom. I put my intention statement for the year there last year. It made me smile when I saw it. And I got a lot of questions from friends who used my bathroom. Which of course reminded me what I was wanting to bring to them while they were with me and in my home. I have heard other people put it on the private bathroom mirror so it is for them only.

Holli I love that Jamie....I had a friend who did that and I liked being able to go see her and remind myself to live my life with joy every day! :)

Lori Walker Holli, Thanks for the suggestion. Luckily, I have enough shampoo that the bottle should be evenly matched. And I also have like 2 cans of partially used shaving gel that need to be used. I'm a mess.

Thanks for the idea Jamie! I may have to do that. I wrote a couple of quotes that I like on notecards and taped them on my mirror because I don't have dry erase markers and that worked nicely for me.

Lori Walker I've been doing pretty well with being an individual and with finishing this summer. So far, I've only left one book stranded, but I know I will go back and finish it. As far as being an individual, it's really easy to do when it's the summer and I'm not around people who are negative influences so much of the time. In other words, I have those two words down as well as I can at this point in time.

Still, it's grace that I'm having a hard time with. But I think it was no accident that I found a quote the other day to remind me about my struggle and to help me with it: "Be pretty if you can. Be witty if you must. But be gracious if it kills you." I can't remember off the top of my head who said it, but it was in the June issue of Real Simple (or was it July?).

How is everyone else doing with their words?

Holli Thanks Teri :) I love hearing the encouraging words.....

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) I feel my intention words are coming along, "Simplicity, Clarity, Harmony" and once I tackle this bedroom, I will be a great many steps closer.

Lori Walker teri, I'm probably taking it further than it really extends. But I'd include the ability to take a compliment rather than argue with the person or denegrate yourself, not making people uncomfortable (especially when your the hostess) in your presence, minding your p's and q's and generally thinking before you speak.
