Anne Conley

Anne is the author of
Hot Mess by Anne Conley Neighborly Complications by Anne Conley Falling for Heaven (Four Winds, #1) by Anne Conley Chef's Delight by Anne Conley Dream On by Anne Conley

What was the first thing you remember writing?

"The first thing I remember writing was a short story for a creative writing competition. I can't remember the prompt, but I wrote about Fred Flintstone
inventing the lightbulb in prehistoric times...it won first place, so I guess you could call me an award-winning writer."

Who are your inspirations when writing? Authors? Family? Friends?

"My inspirations are everywhere, in the books I read, to my family (my daughter calls herself my ideatress) and friends. Most of my stories have some aspect of lots of people I know all mashed together. When I drive around, I'm listening to music, watching the world around me. I've always been the one at parties, sitting in a corner people-watching."

What is your favorite genre to write and why?

"I really enjoy writing romance. Their's just something so wonderful about falling in love, and I get to re-live that experience with every story I write."

What are your plans for future books/ series?

"I may write Stories of Serendipity until I die. I just love them. I also have a paranormal romance series called the Four Winds, that has one published, one in the beta stages, one completed rough draft, one outlined, and one still swimming around in my head. After that, it's done."

Do you have a favorite character in your books?

"Right now, my favorite character is Rachel, from Hot Mess. She struggles to keep everything in her life together, but she manages a relatively "with it" facade. She's a single mom, trying to do her best with her dealt hand."

Who/ what do you model your characters after?

"All of my female characters have some aspect of myself in them. It's really hard not to do that when I'm writing. At the same time, I try to make them all different."
