Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion

I have been kind of feeling a new character. its like I know what he looks like and I imagine he sounds like Peter Steele from Type O Negative. the problem is I.can't remember if I read about him in another book or if he is a character I should write about. has anyone else done this? I am afraid to write about him in a story for fear of plagiarism. What should I do?

Well, if you can't find any other use of the name you want to use, you should be okay. I mean, ideas cannot be copywritten. The idea of a hero that is similar to one you may have seen before is not something you can get sued over. Change up a few things if you're not sure (although I am not sure that will help, seeing as how you aren't entirely sure the character's not coming out of your memory!)
