Mike Niewodowski | 6 comments Very sad news. Thank you for your words, Mr. Leonard. I enjoyed Get Shorty, but really loved Cuba Libre (even though it's not on 'THE LIST'). Anyone read La Brava or City Primeval? Recommendation? I'll make it a point to read one of his novels next.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I've read only one by this author and not a list book - Gold Coast. It was fun - only fun, but enough so that I'll look forward to eventually picking up another by Leonard.

I read all three of the ones you mentioned, and I've seen most of the films made from his material. He will be missed ---especially by the film industry I think!

Jonpaul I've read all of Leonard's books that were on the lists-La Brava, Get Shorty, City Primeval-and am very fond of all of them and almost anything of his I've read. Out of Sight, Pronto, Cat Chaser, Riding The Rap, and on and on. He was a true American classic, a man who redefined what constituted American crime fiction. I have and will continue to miss Elmore "Dutch" Leonard, the Dickens of Detroit, for the rest of my life.
