Thanks! I might need some help as English is not my mother tongue, so maybe some people in this group will be kind enough to correct me :)

Quanisha McGruder (quanii_a) | 14 comments Hi! (late) I'm Quanisha. Thanks for the invite. I love connecting with other writers. I'm currently writing a Fantasy novella called The Foretold. I'm having fun writing it and still getting new ideas for different series that are in a completely different genre. So I like to bounce around a lot, whichever the wind blows.

Hope I didn't confuse everyone :x Its just in folders now for books and writing. I won't be upset if you post in 'wrong' folders I might just shuffle them about abit :p

just main difference is off topic or not really :3

Hi, thanks for the invite. I feel I'm part of some secret group (On a not so secret website) haha.
I'm from Australia. I'm roughly 20,000 words into my first novel 'Paper Plane'. It's about a young man (falsely) accused of rape and his inability to let women get close to him. I'm loving the experience of writing a first novel. Learn so much about myself and the craft! I'm enrolled at Macquarie University studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Media.

Thanks! :D

message 215: by J.M. (new)

J.M. Guillen (jmguillen) | 4 comments Wow Bisky! This blew up a bit! Great work! I *love* following what you're up to! Partially because, as intimated on Twitter, we are in fact the same person. I assume that you are my mild-mannered alter ego who no one suspects of villainy.

My name is JM Guillen. I spend most of my time trying to enslave western civilization and experimenting with armies of drones and cloned dinosaurs. My super-villain name is "The Pen-Dragon".

I also tend to write a bit.

My work is published through Irrational Worlds, an evil publishing conglomerate based on the Daedalus space station. Currently it consists of four novellas. These range from:

A fantasy romance, about a priestess of passion and desire...
to
A steampunk detective story, with more than a dash of suspense...
to
A science fiction/spy romp battling against cthulian horror...
to
A modern faerie tale about the embodiment of Autumn, hunting the shadows of our world...

My work is all interconnected, and the stories contain strands of each other. I'll admit that it's more than a little bit of a game for me, and I try and make it fun WHILE enslaving the masses. I am currently working on the steampunk/detective story, and expanding it into a series.

An evil series. With a dark and terrible purpose.

Just so everyone knows, I am on the hunt for books to review. I am specifically requesting .Mobis from goodreads authors for this nefarious task. You should be aware, however, that as a super-villain, my reviews have a bit of a slant.

If you'd like a review, message me up. I'll happily give you one.*

*Secret catch

Hello! Thank you Bisky for the invite! :)

I am writing a PN/Sci-fi series called The Legacy.
I love to read and review but I wished days had more than 24 hours!

message 218: by David (new)

David (darev) | 0 comments Guess I should have done this a while back. I'm David. I've written and posted a few short stories and have completed my first novel "The River Styx" which is looking for representation from a literary agent. For the curious, "The River Styx" is a mythological novel set towards a YA audience in which a girl, Hope, travels aboard a ship of the damned across the Greek Underworld.

Sarah LaFleur (lafleurdeplume) | 37 comments Cool Willow... I didn't know what your book was about but it sounds great. Love dystopian society books!

message 220: by Christy (new)

Christy Romero (christyromero) | 7 comments Thanks for the invite and Hi to everyone! I have published 2 books so far, Crimson Tears and 5 Doors. Both are fantasy novels with a psychological twist. I am currently working on my 3rd which was the 1st I wrote. Needs a lot of work!!!
Would love to hear from other authors about their experiences etc

message 221: by Dia (new)

Dia Tucker | 7 comments I write short stories and poetry that I post online. I write more in the fantasy genre, but I've been trying out urban fiction and may write more scifi in the future. =) I am working on a dystopian novel, but I'm taking my time with it and I don't know when I'll be finished.

Loves mysteries and reading. And chocolate and pizza! Still getting used to social media. Have had laptop for eight months. Sigh.

message 224: by Anna (new)

Anna Patel | 1 comments Greetings:

It's always so exciting to connect with other writers. I am very pleased to be a part of this group, and to get to know you all! :)

I'm currently writing a Post-Apocalyptic/Dystopian SciFi for the YA genre. To put it frankly, it's radical, and likely the BEST book idea I've ever had.

Whenever I'm not writing, I'm reading. And whenever I'm not doing either of the aforementioned, I'm EDITING. I have a degree in English (and Psychology, but that's another story), with an emphasis on Grammar.

Writing is quite literally all that I'm good at -- so, let's hope I can pull through and get something published! :)

message 226: by Kelli (new)

Kelli C (kellimcassell) Hi everyone! I've been reading all of your introductions, but haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Kelli. I'm a new writer. I have the first draft of a science fiction novel done and am working on my first revision now. I'm also outlining a fantasy novel that I will write during NaNoWriMo this year (hopefully). I feel like a toddler just learning to walk in the writing world - I have a lot to learn. I arrived a little late to the game, but I'm having a GREAT time figuring things out and letting my imagination run wild!

Thank you, Bisky, for starting this group. I look forward to getting to know each of you.

Robert James | 16 comments Thanks for inviting me!

I'm Robert James. I'm a teacher and a writer (WHO Won?!? An Irreverent Look at the Oscars -- v. 1: 1927-1943 and v. 2: 1944-1952 available now, v. 3 almost done).

I've also done considerable work on science fiction, particularly Robert Heinlein.

As for reading, these days it's mostly research, but I love literary works, as well as the fun stuff (SF, Fantasy). I read a lot of history (I teach AP US and World History).

Looking forward to getting involved in some of the discussions here :)

Hi, Chris! Welcome!

I recently learned the term speculative fiction, and I wonder if that fits my writing? Ambiguity is great--especially in creepy stories. :3

message 241: by Julia (new)

Julia Barnes-brown (jujyfru1t) | 2 comments Hello, everyone! And thanks for the invite, Bisky. :)
I... don't actually have anything big right now. Two draft-zero Nanowrimo novels that I have yet to get back to, a bunch of fanfic (some finished, most ongoing sandboxy-type things), endless ramblings and snippets and threads...
I've not written for a while either. But even if my dream of making a career out of it must be gently recalabrated, I can't imagine I'll ever stop completely. It's too much fun.

message 242: by Ann (new)
