Karen Prince | 2 comments Hi, I'm Karen. I stumbled upon this group via a friend and it looks such fun. I have only written 1 book so far; an African fantasy adventure for teens.

hi Jennifer! You'll get it published as long as you stick with it. It might be a while but it will come, even if you do it yourself!

Hi Karen! Only written? Thats an amazing achievement in itself :3

Welcome aboard guys :]

Happy to join all of you.

message 305: by Jonah (new)

Jonah Gibson (aimlessjonah) Hi, My name's Jonah. I write contemporary adult fiction. My debut novel is a self-deprecating spin on action-adventure thrillers that took its' inspiration from real events. I like starting from the mundane things that trip my various triggers and weaving tales from there that make my real life seem boring. Come to think about it, since I spent years as an accountant, it probably is boring.

Stephanie Brooks | 11 comments Hi! I'm Stephanie and I write Urban Fantasy with dips into paranormal romance and sci-fi. I have two books out and am working on editing a third for publication this winter.

message 310: by I.O. (new)

I.O. Kirkwood (iokirkwood) | 2 comments I was drawn in by the aliens question and we follow on Twitter so here I am. I am soon to be published - a piece in a short story anthology about an alien and his erstwhile and ever-changing partners in adventure. I'm also working on an alternate history urban fantasy world that appears to want to be a series of short stories as well. Trying for novel but the Universe seems to be saying "baby steps, Io." This is going to be a fun group. I can just tell!

@Stephanie sounds like my kind of genre :3 Welcome aboard! :D

@Io I really enjoyed your post! I want to do more alien/supernatural themed things in the group in the run up to halloween :3

Also sorry for the late reply been trying to shake the flu and limiting my screen time :3

Anita Bush | 6 comments Hi :) Bisky told me i should join so hello everyone. I have just self published my first book and am busy writing the next, so don't get to play very often (all work etc...I'm very dull). Anyway, I shall try and join in with chats on here whenever I can, but feel free to throw things at me (preferably shoes, converse size 6 always good) if you wish. A x

Yay :] Glad you could join. I like that you have normal size feet. I have freakishly small feet... Size 4/5. Not too bad until you realise I'm 6 foot. No even proportions here :x

Hope you enjoy your stay ;]

message 314: by Michael (new)

Michael Ray (mcray) Hi everybody. I just saw Bisky's tweet, so here I am. My writing partner and I just released our first novel (historical fantasy) and we're deep into writing our second. I've been on Goodreads for quite a while, but only just recently started using it. This group should help keep me interested, so thanks!

message 316: by Christopher (new)

Christopher | 14 comments Oh intros, how I loathe thee, but they are necessary, no? So, who am I? Or rather what do I write? Well, I've written a comic about a werewolf hunter in the old west. Yeah, cute, I know. And I'm currently writing a modern fantasy novel about the ancient Gods vs. our Monotheistic God of today. You know, where Apollo fights Archangel Gabriel to the death!

And I have to agree with Michael here. Bisky seems to make the social media sites interesting! And she's 6 ft tall? Holy cow!

I didn't know what your novel was about, sounds great :D Glad you could join :3

And thanks for making me feel like a freakish giant there Lunar :[

message 318: by April (new)

April Hollingworth | 105 comments Bisky I always wanted to be 6ft but never made it I'm 5ft 8 and a 1/4. But when I was 13 I walked into a large road sign instead of ducking under it! As usual I was off in my own world and got rudely brought back by the shuddering sign that forever has my head imprinted init where I dented it. I have a hard head. From that moment on I accepted the fact that some things are best not being but I still feel a twinge of envy at those lucky women like you that made it to 6ft.

"Don't worry dear, they'll catch up." Bisky Mother to 13 year old 6ft Bisky.

She LIED.

But I must admit I got lots of streetcred getting into all the nightclubs without anyone bothering to ID me. And then I moved to Scandinavia... I'm average woman height here.

message 320: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm 5ft2... How's the weather up there? ^^

*feeling so short*

message 322: by Claire (new)

Claire (cycraw) | 278 comments I'm 5ft1, I think I'm the shortest here. I'd love to be taller. Getting things out of the kitchen cabinets almost always requires a footstool.

message 323: by Ann (new)

Ann Thorrson (ann_thorrson) | 2536 comments Mod
I've always been pretty happy with my height. But it does mean I have to bend alittle to talk to my best friend who is abit teeny :3

message 324: by April (new)

April Hollingworth | 105 comments I'm the tallest female in my family most of them are all around 5ft my two elder sisters are 5ft 6 and 5ft 7. My mum managed to walk under the sign that I dented!

message 325: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 11 comments Bisky! We can share shoes!! I have teeny tiny feet as well :) And since you offered, I always need help getting stuff from the cupboards. I'm 5'2".

I'm also a writer ;) I enjoy writing contemporary magical realism books, and occasionally I dabble into the fantasy realm. I've published one novel, and I'm busy working on another. I'm glad to be here with y'all!

message 327: by Christopher (new)

Christopher | 14 comments I would like to let it be known on record that I started this thread within the thread about height which has migrated into shoes. I know, it's a hell of an achievement. *pats self on back* And women are awesome no matter what their height, but I still gotcha Bisky. I'm 6'1". =p My shoe size is 11. Wow, this exceeds every intro ever!

message 328: by Ann (new)

Ann Thorrson (ann_thorrson) | 2536 comments Mod
It started with Anita on shoes, went to height, then shoes, then height again :p I often wear heels that make me 6'1 and over though ;P

Not quite big enough to demand snuu snuu from puny beautiful men, but I'm still quite menacing when I want to be.

Glad your intro made such an impact :p

message 329: by April (new)

April Hollingworth | 105 comments I'm a size 6 shoe and I have to admit I do love my heals which can get me up to just under 6ft at my highest :D

I LOVE that you're writing for young adults in Arabic, especially scifi. As you said, you may be the first.

I hope I'll be able to read your book in translation some day.

Andi (andilit) | 9 comments Hi All,
Sorry to be slow to get chatting here. I just got married!

I write creative nonfiction. I write about American slavery and history as well as essays about other random things. I have a completed draft of my first book - that tells the story of the people who were enslaved on the plantation where I was raised.

Nice to meet you all.

My publisher calls it 'urban fantasy action adventure'. It is the first of 6 in a series. I have also written one fantasy novel and an action/adventure book that starts with a dream.

I'm Jessica. At the moment I'm writing short stories for myself and blogging. Working on my grammar and lots of other things as well. Most of my ideas come at night so I don't sleep much.
Lovely to meet you!

Although, with a toddler, I don't have much choice BUT to sleep regular hours... or turn into the dragon-mother... So, perhaps I am the unusual one around here?

message 343: by Ann (new)

Ann Thorrson (ann_thorrson) | 2536 comments Mod
I think toddlers always fuzz up any situation :p I have to get up and write notes in the middle of the night or I will never sleep :p I also get up stupidly early to check messages. But I don't tend to start tweeting until afew hours later lol I dont trust my zombie tweets lol

message 344: by [deleted user] (new)

I sleep a lot ^^ I feed off my idealistic/utopian dreams for my novels, though I tend to turn the situation around to give it a gothic look; it doesn't stay utopian very long xD

message 345: by Brian (new)

Brian Basham (brianbasham) | 390 comments Hello Everyone! Hopefully 5th time will be the winner. I am currently writing the first in a trilogy of YA distopian novels and a fantasy/horror series that I update weekly on Wattpad. I am on just about every social media site but I am most active on twitter as @ninjadueces22. I hope to meet and chat with you all soon! I want to explore more, but I gotta finish my weekly update. I'm supposed to be posting it.. like now. It's only half way done though.. Doh!

message 346: by Kate (new)

Kate (katedobs) | 4 comments Hello there :) I'm currently working on a standalone fantasy that's set in a world that shall be littered with novels in the distant future. Looking forward to getting it finally down to a completed first draft :/

Hey Brian! Glad It actually let you join in the end :p Welcome aboard :D

Hello Caesia! I hope you find some encouragement here! I'm stuck editing my second draft, its hard!

message 348: by Brian (new)

Brian Basham (brianbasham) | 390 comments I pushed myself through the first draft of mine, and felt like I really accomplished something when I finished. Then I went back to edit, and realized just how bad the first draft was. The good thing is that the editing is going much smoother for me. Unless I have to do a major overhaul and rewrite.
