Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? It was a lot of fun! And as I've had this week off from work, it was great timing too :)
Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? First time and yes I would participate again.
Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? There were a couple of books I chose in advance, but the rest I picked as I went along, depending on my mood. I thought I might get through a couple more books than I did, but apparently I’m not as fast as I thought.
Did you have a favorite, quiet reading spot? I was mainly lounging on the couch, with a nice cup of tea or hot chocolate next to me.
Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? No problems at all, but like I said before, I did have the week off.
Did you discover a new series, author or genre? I started on Sable Grace’s ‘Dark Breeds’ and really enjoyed the first couple of instalments and I also rediscovered my love for Rhiannon Frater.
Did you read alone or with partner? Alone
Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? A mixture of DTB library loans and Kindle books

Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? I liked but keeping track of hours read and # pages was difficult since I rarely read anything in one sitting.
Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? First time for me so my system is not optimal.
Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? I did plan what I wanted to read but some books came form the library and availability narrowed my choices.
Did you have a favorite, quiet reading spot? Some were audiobooks so excellent for housecleaning time and exercising. Reading in bed when my mind can't sit still for me to sleep.
Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? I just read whenever I could.
Did you discover a new series, author or genre? My main purpose was catching-up on my many series so in a way I stuck with sure things.
Did you read alone or with partner? Alone unfortunately, if it were not for Goodreads I would feel left out because very few of my friends actually like para-fantasy themes books.
Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? I used a mix of Audio and eBook formats?

✓ Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? it was fun but kind of a chore to remember how long I had read each day ~ good thing most of it was don on my iPad - so I could go back and forth between book and my log
✓ Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? No - I've done a few. I have another one coming up next month in a different group - it's all good
✓ Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? I did it while I was on vacation - so I had whatever books were loaded onto my iPad reading apps. I'm kind of a mood reader.
✓ Did you have a favorite, quiet reading spot? no, read in bed, poolside or at the beach - all were great!
✓ Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? I didn't really have a reading schedule in my mind. I just knew that I would have blocks of time on the plane rides and then while relaxing.
✓ Did you discover a new series, author or genre? these are all series, genres and authors I've already read
✓ Did you read alone or with partner? by myself or with my kids
✓ Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? all were eBooks and one was a paperback.

✓ Number and/or list of books read: 5

✓ Did you find it fun or was it more of a chore to complete? Most of it was fun. I chose two non-fiction books, which was new for me, and those at times were a bit much to get my head around.
✓ Is this your first time participating in a Read-a-Thon? If so, would you participate again or was once is enough? Yeah, my first time :-) And sure, I will definitely do it again
✓ Did you have a favorite, quiet reading spot? Out in the sun on the grass, or just lying on the couch
✓ Did you discover a new series, author or genre? Well I discovered non-fiction. I feel insanely smart right now. Step aside Einstein.
✓ Did you read alone or with partner? Alone. I prefer books to people. Why on earth would I want a human near me when I read? The closest to company I had were my cats and dogs.
✓ Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT? Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? For once, they were all paperback.

✓ Did you choose RAT books in advance? If so, were you able to read all of the books you'd set aside? No, I read books I needed for another challenge and books I wanted to read.

✓ Did you have a favorite, quiet reading spot? The corner of the sofa

✓ Did you find it difficult to stick to your reading schedule? If so, how'd ya overcome it? It is a good thing that I have insomnia since I worked almost 60 hours a week the last three weeks.

✓ Did you discover a new series, author or genre? Discovered a couple of new authors that I look forward to reading more of.

✓ Did you read alone or with partner? I read alone

✓ Which book format(s) did you use for your RAT?
Audio, Paperback/Hardcover (DTB), or eBook OR did you use a mix of formats? I read paperbacks and eBooks. I have over 500 books on my TBR pile. I have 11 bookcases and 3 ereaders. Sigh...do you think I have a "thing" for reading?

Winterblaze (Darkest London, #3) by Kristen Callihan Shadow's Fall (Shadow World, #3) by Dianne Sylvan Mate Claimed (Shifters Unbound, #4) by Jennifer Ashley Charming the Highlander (Highlander, #1) by Janet Chapman Heart of Steel (Iron Seas, #2) by Meljean Brook Lessons in French by Laura Kinsale

Total Hours: 24 hours over 5 days
Total Books: Bits and pieces of 6 books
Total Pages: 1292

I went into this with a plan. It was a great plan. It was not a plan I stuck with. LOL.

I intended to do my regular reading throughout the week and set aside 3 Saturdays for the RAT. RAT Saturdays were supposed to help me get through books gathering dust on my TBR and I wouldn't touch them during my regular week's reading. 1 surprise birthday Party + 1 birthday dinner cooked by me + 1 birthday get together at the winery = 3 Saturdays gone. Okay, I can handle that. I'll just switch to reading between 3-6 hours on all 5 Sundays. The first Sunday I started with Winterblaze. I didn't want to wait until the next Sunday to continue, so I picked it up here and there throughout the week. The second Sunday I finished WB and started another book, which I finished during regular reading. The third Sunday, I just scrapped my plan and continued/finished what I had started through the week. And that's how I read bits and pieces of 6 different books during my RAT sessions.

I did enjoy myself, especially since October ended up being a low book month for me. If I hadn't taken time on the weekends to read, I probably wouldn't have read anything much all month long. This was my first RAT and I would definitely participate again. Maybe I'll even stick to the plan.

ETA: Steph, that means you'll have to slide me down to group 4.

Number of pages read: 840+ Uncertain the total number of pages read since I've got pages, % read of bits and hours listened to.

✓I enjoyed the reading, just did my normal thing. I find it amazing when I track my reading time how much I squeeze in between all the RL stuff.

✓This was my first Read-a-Thon and would like to participate again.

✓No books were selected ahead of time, I just went to my "On Deck" books which are the top of my TBR mountain. I finally got to a series I had been putting off for some time and continued to devour it after RAT.

✓I read in bed during the late hours and early morning "my time", outside during lunch breaks, and in my car commuting to work or while kids are at soccer practice. I've converted idle time to reading time... and always have my kindle within reach.

✓My new series discovery and author was Darynda Jones' Grim Reapers series and I really enjoyed it. Now I am waiting with the rest of the Charley Davidson fans since I'm all caught up thru Fifth Grave Past the Light in September.

✓I read books on my kindle and listened to the Charley series in audiobook on my iPod. I'm kind of selective in my audio purchases and try to grab an entire series in one format when I can. Very pleased with 1st thru 5th grave books, and can see myself re-listening again.

It did once I started rereading the Plums, up to that point I was just floating from book to book only reading a couple of chapters and getting bored again. Now I just need more hours in the day :)
