Tony | 53 comments Hello. I joined Literary Horror a month or so ago but I've only just noticed there's an introductions threads. I live in East Anglia, in the UK. I was a voracious reader of horror as a teenager, from the classy to the trashier ends of the scale, but for some reason I drifted away from the genre.

Recently, the tentacles have dragged me back in. I've already discovered a lot of good writers and I hope to discover more. This group will hopefully help me with my journey into the weird...

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 71 comments Hello Everyone!
I just recently joined this group. I am a big Horror fan especially around this time of year. I was sent a request to join this group and since it sounded good I decided to join. I read and write horror and love watching horror films. I also have a Hundred Year Old Horror thread on the Horror Afficionado's group that I keep up frequently where I talk about classic works of Horror literature. I am looking forward to discussing and being a part of this group.

Jay (okay_jay) | 40 comments Hello, I'm James Adams. I'm a long-time horror fan from Denver, Colorado, U.S. I am a fan of most horror, but have steadily moved to the quieter end of the street, i.e. Aickman, Grant, and Ligotti, although I have been reading King and Herbert recently (and am not even sorry!) Am looking forward to reading and discussing with you all.

W.T. Shad (wtlee) | 4 comments Hello group, I dig the reading that's going on here. I'm a wayward nine to fiver building a bridge to being a professional drinker...I mean writer.

Hey, rock n' roll and lots of soul. Thanks for having me. I had a library but my two year old ate it.

S.A. Hunt (sahunt) | 1 comments Hi hi, everybody. I just found this group on Tumblr!

I'm an author. My flagship series is a flintlock fantasy, but my secondary is a witch-horror that pushed me into the top 100 Amazon horror authors twice last year!

I hope this group is what I'm looking for! I have a lot of trouble finding good horror literature clubs these days that aren't just echo chambers for House of Leaves, Head Full of Ghosts, or Stephen King.

Justin Isis (justinisis) | 5 comments What’s up my name is Justin Isis…never really been into straight-up horror although I grew up with Stephen King and Clive Barker as constant presences and learned a lot from both. Currently working on the most literary horror project I’ve done, editing a Mark Samuels tribute anthology called Marked to Die, which should be out shortly and features stories from Adam Nevill, Reggie Oliver, Colin Insole and others…anyway, been enjoying all the discussions here so far!

message 241: by Janie (new)

Janie | 158 comments Hi, Justin! Your current project sounds really interesting. I'll be looking for that one!

message 243: by Logan (new)

Logan Plonski | 4 comments Hello, I'm Logan. I love Weird Fiction and New Weird, and I'm currently obsessed with China Mieville and Jeff VanderMeer. I'm trying to look more into classical horror fiction as well, but I'm a little intimidated by how much there is out there. My reading taste is really eclectic, so it's hard to find time to read everything I want.

message 244: by Logan (new)

Logan Plonski | 4 comments Thanks, I will!

Justin Isis (justinisis) | 5 comments Randolph wrote: This sounds fantastic! What publisher?

Snuggly Books will be putting it out within two or three months. In full, it contains stories by me, Mark Valentine, Reggie Oliver, Colin Insole, Daniel Mills, Adam Nevill, DF Lewis, John Mundy, Kristine Ong-Muslim, James Champagne, Brendan Connell, Quentin S. Crisp, Thana Niveau, Simon Clark, Stuart Young, John L. Probert, Ralph Doege, Yarrow Paisley, Jon Paul Rai, and David Rix. The contributors were encouraged to use Mark Samuels as a character so there are numerous stories of him getting up to some extreme violence. I think anyone who likes the writers just listed, or Mark, will probably enjoy this book.

Dan | The Ancient Reader (theancientreader) I'm Dan; 61 and semi-retired in Albuquerque, NM. Grew up in southern NM and lived in places from the West Coast to the East Coast and several in between for thirty-five years or so before settling here about thirteen years ago.

I'm an Acquisitions Editor for a small publisher. I get mostly the suspense/thriller and horror manuscripts with the occasional sci-fi, fantasy, or historical fiction thrown into the mix. To occupy my free time, I've recently started a self-directed course of study to expand my knowledge and experience base beyond that required to get a graduate degree in English.

My two favorite books are The Brothers K and House of Leaves.

I'm always open to chatting about books and to making new friends, so feel free to contact or add me.
