This is on my TBR and I'm thinking of reading it soon. I'm not too good at sticking to the time frames of these readalongs, but I'll definitely read it and post my thoughts when I've read it, although it may be after everyone else has posted!

There's no particular time frame Gail so don't worry! You can find the thread here.

Gail (appleshoelace) Thanks, Charbel.

aPriL does feral sometimes (cheshirescratch) I read this 20 years ago. I was very glad to have read it. I was educating myself about books on the Great Books courses. Because of it, I began to question what religion was. I subsequently took Comparative Religions, History of Christianity, etc. I am now an atheist. I am so glad to have read this book.

Leslie, when would you like to schedule our Affinity readalong? I'm happy to do it whenever suits you.

I put in my request at the library but there are a few people ahead of me so I probably won't get a copy for a while. Let's plan on mid-month & I will let you know if the book comes in earlier (or later).

Diane and Jaytee- Are you still interested in reading The Tennis Partner. I am thinking of starting next weekend but am going to set up the thread now

message 467: by Jaytee (new)

Jaytee | 51 comments Heather, yes I'm very interested in reading it and looking forward to it actually. Thank you for setting up the thread. This is my first readalong. A warning though that I am a slow reader. I'll start the book this week.

I'm not very quick either so it should be fine. We can read at our own pace and just use the spoiler tag if you think it's necessary. Start whenever you like and I will aim to start next Monday

Hello fellow fantasy lovers! Would anyone like to read Blood Song by Anthony Ryan ?

Monica Davis Giorgia wrote: "Hello fellow fantasy lovers! Would anyone like to read Blood Song by Anthony Ryan ?"

Hmmm...interesting, that one is on my reading list. When were you thinking about beginning the read? I have a couple on my plate right now, so can't fit in a 580+ page book at the moment, but would place a library hold to make sure I have a copy.

I've been thinking a lot recently about how much I want to re-read The Discworld Novels. In a similar format to Jean's Dickens challenge, I am going to take it very slow and maybe read one novel a month and I would like to try and write some short reviews. If anybody would like to join in with any of these then please let me know!

I might have a go at reading another - I tried reading Mort years ago and didn't get very far with it. I think I will try again.

message 477: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Great idea! I'll definitely join in with some of these! Not the first - I wasn't very taken with that one when I read it, and think he got a lot better. I've only read 3 or 4 though.

If you do a shoutout when a new "section" begins, I'd love to join in Heather. I have thought of you as our enthusiastic Discworld expert for quite a while, so am looking forward to being properly converted! ;)

message 478: by [deleted user] (new)

I will keep it updated on my thread and will shoutout on here when I'm a bit further in! Would be great to have company

Since I already have reading more Discworld as a personal challenge, I am sure that I will join in some.

Heather, I'd love to read some Terry Pratchett sometime too! I don't know if I'll have time with everything going on to join now, but if I can find the time, I bet I'd enjoy it!
