Somya | 178 comments The main character of the Matched series is named Cassia. I thought it was pronounced as CASS-ee-ya at first, but when I looked it up online, I found that it was pronounced as CAY-sha... It is a good name but now I just can't think of her without being reminded of Ke$ha and her messed up hair and make-up. They are poles apart!

s (cherrybelugas) Lol I did not Know that!! Ugh I don't really like that...But names can always be pronounced different, I guess. I like CASS-ee-yah the best

Someone told me that Jace from the Mortal Instruments is not pronounced "Jace" as you would read it, rhyming with "ace", its actually (view spoiler)

Wow. Those ones from Etiquette and Espionage. XD

message 57: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 12 comments I agree with you Brittany, I can't stand it when authors decide to make up the craziest names for their characters. You and your friends will be reading the same book and you go to talk about it and neither of you know who the other is talking about because both have created their own way of saying it.

Lauren (bookschief_managed) I'm not sure about the whole "Jace" pronunciation thing. Maybe the person pronounces it differently but I went to a book signing and they did a whole Q&A with Cassie and she pronounced it as if it rhymes with Ace.

S | 19 comments Tobias from Divergent, anyone?
Meh. Idk. Maybe i just really like Four better. XD

message 60: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (bookschief_managed) I agree... Stick to calling him Four xD

Maya Pankratz (simply__stardustx) | 98 comments Waverly from Glow. It's really an unfortuanate name, and was used very frequently throughout the book as it was in third person.

Maren K (mkgunning) | 6 comments Really?? Dally and Darry?? WHYYY

message 63: by Margaret (new)

Margaret (pearapple) | 110 comments All of the names in The Selection, like especially Aspen and Maxon. *shudders* Maxons name makes him sound like a jerk who is full of himself.

Yeah, my own name is Spencer and I'm a girl. Not the most graceful name. ;p
