Erica (gypsysgem) | 19 comments So, does anyone recommend any good Pirate romance novels? I really prefer the more 'light hearted' ones. I don't care much for the really serious books. They can be historical romances, or time travel ones - really just looking for ones that readers really love. :)

2 of my favorites are Once a Pirate by Susan Grant , and Passion's Ransom by Betina Krahn

Joseph (bluemanticore) | 216 comments One of the best books I've read this year is Cinnamon and Gunpowder by Eli Brown. A 5-star read, it's one of the best pirate stories I've ever read, told in the same style as those other pirate/sea story greats known as Treasure Island and Gulliver's Travels, but with its own unique bits and pieces. A great combo of adventure, historical fiction, and romance with wonderful, unique characters that you will not want to put it down until you finish it.

Another you might want to read is Hook & Jill and Other Oceans by Andrea Jones, parts one and two of a trilogy retelling of Peter Pan. I like this story way better than the original by J.M. Barrie. The original story of Peter Pan I found really boring, but this one was great, great character development and interaction. It gets into a wonderful telling of the pirate life of Captain Hook and the romance that he and Wendy get into. Both are 5 star reads, IMO.

Barbara ★ I have about 90 books listed on my pirates shelf. Feel free to browse. I've sorted them by my rating so my faves are easy to access (at the top).

Paganalexandria | 238 comments I'm taking it completely old school bodice ripper: Johanna Lindsey Gentle Rogue (Malory Family, Book 3) by Johanna Lindsey . I used to love her Mallory series.

Blow Me Down is a sort of pirate book. And it's amusing. What it actually is is a story of people getting caught in a VR game that is based on pirates. VERY funny, but the pirates aren't very accurate, nor is the world.
