Dark-Hunter Series question

Some ppl say each book can be read stand alone. I did not read it that way. I did not skip any. I even read the novellas. So I can't be one to recommend beginning with Ash's story. Though it was the best (first-time) book I read for 2008 =D. Can someone else recommend it?
I would say yes. You will miss SOOOOO much of the back story and about all of the characters that it wont be as good of a book otherwise.
I am sure you could pick it up and think it was good.. but with all of the back information in all of the other books.. god... they make it so much better.
So my answer is YES! :D

I guess before I started the series there was a different original order. I'm getting ready to start The Dream-Hunter, which I think is book #18. Acheron is #22 (almost there!) and I am very excited to read it! But there has been soooo much info in the previous books, part of the fun being that we are given only tidbits of who/what Acheron is, that I couldn't imagine reading the series out of order.

So far I am squeezing in the reading of Fantasy Lover in between my romance suspense and horror novels. I am not thriving on PNR so I have pulled back on the other PNR I was reading this month. I have a special connection with the Dark Hunter series that no matter what. Whenever I read a DH book. It's the right time =D.
