L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 60 comments Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this so if not feel free to chastise me for my ignorance.

I just wanted to drop a line to authors out there. I am trying to start a sort of "free help for indie authors" campaign where authors can share their talent/ideas and what have you through my blog.

If anyone wants some free advertising and they would like me to post a passage from their book/an article/ pretty much anything that displays them as an author then I will post it on my blog with a link to where people can find more about you.

My blog is teeny-tiny at the moment but I a hoping that the more authors I can get involved the more word will spread (and hopefully the bigger the audience I can offer you).

I'm an indie author myself and it is my mission this year to do whatever I can to promote your work - call it trying to buy some karma for my next release.

There's no catch - you post what you want in your own words and I will just put it out there and give you a few days in the limelight.

Let me know if any of you talented authors are interested.

Lynzie

P.S. Here is the blog... (one post since I started my mission)

Rebecca Douglass (rdouglass) | 212 comments It looks intriguing, LE. Do you plan to focus on a particular genre or type of book?

I'm also curious how you got started proofreading (presumably for pay), as I would like to hang out my shingle and start doing some proofing/editing for pay, instead of only for friends.

L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 60 comments Hi Rebecca

I am focusing on indie authors which covers a multitude of sins but I am working with such a wide range of authors it's just not possible to make the blog too specific. Basically I'm going for new and talented and see where it goes from there.

I'm currently doing a paid course (which I convinced my boss to pay for me!) but I have the intention of proofreading for free for all indie authors for as long as I can and only charge those who want me to queue jump or of course actual agencies. If you can spot mistakes easily offer your services for free and have a go you get to meet some really great people.

Peggy Holloway | 393 comments You website looks great. I would love to be a part of it. How do I sign on?

message 5: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle Just lurked around your website for a bit - I am definitely interested. It says to send you a piece of our work with a link... but I am either blind or exhausted (both quite possible), because I can't find anywhere that says where to send it or how to send it to you?

Michelle Muckley | 23 comments Hi count me in. I would like to provide you with a book cover and an excerpt from chapter one. Let me know how best to get it to you.

L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 60 comments Thanks for the great response.

Basically just send me what you want me to post - a word document between 100 - 1000 words give or take. Send a link and an art JPEG - if appropriate with it. Also if you want to add a little line about yourself i.e. Joe Blogs is a writer of some genre you can find more of his work on Amazon.

I will post on a first come first served basis and I will post pretty much anything as long as it is not deemed by me to be offensive (however I am very laid back so you really have to try to be offensive for me to notice).

I will do a new post every two-three days demand dependent and I will email you the day the page goes live.

Just email me your files to: [email protected]

You can send me your text doc in any file you like and if you prefer me to use URL links to cover art then that is no problem either.

I think I covered everything - let me know if you've got more questions - it's early and I need my coffee fix for now...

Cheers

L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 60 comments Just done the first post - this is what it will look like - kind of...

http://l-e-fitzpatrick.blogspot.co.uk...

Also can anyone sending me posts please use spaces between paragraphs - I had copy and pasting issues.

message 9: by Jenelle (new)

Jenelle Sorry about that... I forgot about the copy/pasting issue, wordpress often changes it from tabs to paragraph spacing auto-magically!

L.E. Fitzpatrick (l_e_fitzpatrick) | 60 comments Don't worry I hadn't even thought it might be a problem. I just hope I got the spacing right.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 2274 comments Hey L.E, I'd be interested in this. I will put some of my work and information together and send it over to you.

Philip (phenweb) | 158 comments Hi Sending a first look at one of my new works in progress. I have also set up a blog for it to give a background tale and try and generate interest. No idea yet when I will publish, but creative juices are flowing. My blog for it can be found here
