Who's the best character to fall in love with?

I love Adrian Phoenix's Dante Baptiste. Dark, tortured soul with an endearing mix of innocence and danger. Oh, and seriously hot...
I'm a sucker for Ilona Andrews' Curran. There's just something about the Beast Lord that can have me laughing my ass off one minute and weak in the knees the next.
Lastly, J.R. Ward's Rehvenge. Yum... yeah, that about sums it up. ;)

1.V from BDB
2.Acheron from DH - love him !

I would seriously hate to have them standing in front of me and just be able to choose one.
Vishous
and then the rest of the BDB warriors.
Styx from Guardians of Eternity #3 who looks like an Aztek (sp) warrior.
Talon from D.H. series
and I can't forget Acheron
I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO DO THAT. I know I took it further that the subject, but it's impossible.
ok, one that NO ONE will believe. Mike from The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein. I fell in love with him back when I was about 13. And I STILL cry when he "dies" at the end of the book to this day. The reason the dies is in quotes is--Mike is a self aware computer. He's a HOLMES Mk. 5 (or something similar) and he is convinced that he's Sherlock Holmes' brother Mycroft.
Otherwise--Eric Northman, even tho I usually do NOT like blondes. But Eric is just so YUMMY. And Magnus from Sandra Hill's The Very Virile Viking and the rest of that series of Viking time travel books. Cage from the same series (there's just something about a Cajun man, ya know?)

And I do have a soft spot for Z too.

It seems most have mentioned a BDB warrior, I'd have to say probably Rhage. If I had to choose my ideal mate... wow, that's a hard one. Hmmm, my HEA would most likely be Valerius Magnus from Kenyon's DH's. That only covers my paranormal fancy though.
When it comes to the "perfect" man I'd go for a Rex de Warenne in Brenda Joyce's de Warenne dynasty series. :)

I completely forgot about Acheron, can't help love a guy in goth boots. hahaha second would be Valerius.
From the BDB series i would have to say Z. I just want to hold him and never let go.

Jericho from K.M.Moning Fever series.
Zarek from the DarkHunters...crazy is HAWT!!! LOL
and even though it's tv...Angel & Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I have way too many book crushes. ;)

Do you guys ever get the sense that the guys we love in all these series are kind of just all the same character...?
Sometimes I wonder if the "hot guy" that I love from all my favorite series is really the same guy. Are there discernible differences between them?
Maybe if I really sat down and thought about it I could find differences, but I think they essentially have that same core. That brute alpha male-ness. They all have this very casual authority - the kind that comes from being so certain of their superiority. And they always kind of humor the heroine, letting her think she's running the show...
I don't know. What do you guys all think?
I think my favorite book crush is V, closely followed by Dante (Adrian Phoenix books). I think both of them avoided the cliches I mentioned above. Dante especially, and if V does fit those cliches, he still maintains so much individuality that it doesn't matter.

Nichole, I see what you mean. In many cases the hero is the same guy in different clothes, LOL. But some authors take pains to individuate them. That's always nice to read, i.e. they don't repeat all the traditional lines/scenes.

I'd have to say Vayl from the Jazz Parks books. He makes me smile. I'm only two books into the series and I'm hopelessly in love already. I like the strong silent type (so what if it's a cliche)....
But then I'd also have to say Edward from Twilight (sorry - but I can't help it), I know he comes across as a bit of a whiner and scarey stalker, but you know he'd never cheat on Bella, thats a man that loves with heart and soul.

That's weird. I love Vayl, I really do - and no one belongs with Jaz but him. However, it's Cole that I'm a sucker for. He makes me laugh out loud in almost every scene he's in. He's devoted, and loving and very sweet.

Really - Cole?? He feels more like the younger brother I never had. Just not feeling the sexiness on that one.
But Vayl? He's just so clueless sometimes. I fell for him when he admitted he was scared of snakes in the first book. Definately in touch with his feminine side - in a curiously old fashioned way.

Vischous, Rage and Zhadist from BDB
Talon, Valerius, Acheron and Wren from the Dark Hunters
Sebastian Wroth from Cole's Immortal After Dark
Tegan and Dante from Lara Adrian's Series
and Broderick from The Ransom by Julie Garwood (I know this is not PNR but I had to add him in there)

There's just too many characters!

stange but not unexpected::there is something called the neem(sp?)effect::this is the theory whereby if a thought is started in one place it soon spreads out and *infects* others::music::fashion::art::anything infact where you think you had ffee will::but::maybe don't::the other thought is that as the nurturing sex we are all attracted to characters who require us to *mother them* i.e offer love and tenderness to damaged hearts::minds::
and the third thought which relates to love:: sex:: and lust::that we're ultimatley all attracted to those males who have stood the test of *battle*so are strong and reliable under any adversity::just a thought:)::

I can't believe I just wrote that.

LOL i couldn't agree more:) ::

hahahaha..... be still my beating heart.... I love when they never have a shirt on.
while we are on this vein of shirtless men--if the author describes him as "furred" in any manner at all--I automatically do NOT like him. Sorry, but hairy chests are NOT my thing. A little hair in that "line" that Niff talked about is fine, but other than that, Y*U*C*K.

And yet, I'm getting a complete crush on Pritkin that at the moment is overshadowing my Mircea love. I'm so torn.
Eric Northman, DEFINITELY. My eyes go wide and I start grinning gleefully when ever he's mentioned. Oh, that man is sexy. And disarming in his thoughtfulness. Haven't read the latest yet!!
Valerius and Zarek. Although I think I lust hungrily after Zarek, while I actually want to cozy up with Valerius.
I love Frost from Merry Gentry.
Bones, certainly. I adore the way he lets Cat do her thing and is confident and content enough not to have to take the lead.
And Sinclair, from MJD's Undead. Sexy, cocky bastard. I want to smack him, then kiss him senseless.

Curran- from Kate daniels series. He's the f'ing Beastlord.
Z and Rehv from BDB- these are the only two brothers that get me going. I loved their stories.
Marc from Shifters series. he is so dangerous and hot headed but he loves his Faythe.
Conall from Mangus Pack series- there is something about a viking werewolf who can flip a bed over and grind you something terrible up against a wall.
Eric Northman from the Sookie series- another viking who I wouldn't mine letting pillage.
Lucien Argeneau from the Argeneau series- he's feared and loved. He is the total badass.
Lucan from Darkkyn series- Another dark badass.
Jeremy Blade from the Glory St.Claire series- there is something about a scottish vamp that is just sexy
Charles from the Alpha/Omega series- Sexy with that long hair and NA looks and he is a badass( that seems to be my theme LOL)
Gabriel from Blood & Chocolate- he was my first shifter crush
Clay- he reminds me of Marc how could I not love him
and of course Bones from the Night Huntress series- what can I say he's Bones

LOL I think that's a big influence for my list as well.

LOL. I'm with you Ann. A light dusting as they put it is fine. Hairy. NO WAY. Not attractive if you look like your wearing a sweater and your naked.

LOL. I'm glad you did write it. What is it about that description that is so YUMMY?

Gabriel fr. Angel's Blood by Nalini Singh
Mr. Darcy fr. Pride and Prejudice
Kyouhei fr. Midnight Secretary (manga)
D fr. Vampire Hunter D series (manga/anime)
Elric of Melnibone'
Quinn fr. Sookie Series
Mircea and Louis-Cesare
Jean-Claude, Nathaniel, Micah fr. Anita Blake Series
Doyle, Frost, Mistral fr. Merry Gentry series

Curran- from Kate daniels series. He's the f'ing Beastlord.
He's totally unusual and awesome. :-)

The Vampire Shrink
Devereaux is hot vampire on the Eric Northman scale. The Kismet Knight series has the same kind of wacky humor and odd ball characters with a touch of mystery. Plus it's written in first person like the Sookie books.

My favorite is Eric Northman, but Jean-Claude and Bones are right up there. *drools*

I love Adrian Phoenix's Dante Baptiste. Dark, tortured soul with an endearing mix of innocence and danger. Oh, and seriously hot...
Dante is at the top of the list these days!

I would say Anita but she is WAY to whiny for me. :P

Oh, and I just found me a new lover. His name is Angelo Devlin aka Angel(to his sister) or Devil (to everyone else). He's in Sexy Devil by Sasha White. HOT anthology, ladies and the scenes! *fans self*

Which character have you fallen in love with?
I'm deeply in love with Eric Northman, from the Sookie Stackhouse series. I guess i love the whole dark, emo and mysterious personality.
