Seriously, we're talking about November already? Anyway, it's time to nominate.

This month it's back to open nominations; you can keep with the Goodreads Choice Awards theme and nominate a runner up, or just nominate your favourite book, or a book that's been on your TBR pile for ages. Anything you want!

- When nominating please make sure you include the book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the ' add book / author' link above the comment box.

- Please refrain from nominating any book that is already scheduled to read as part of the Goodreads Choice Award Book Club. These can be found at http://www.goodreads.com/group/booksh...

- Please do not nominate a second (or later) book in a series read (as members of the group may not have read the previous books).
Your nomination will be not be counted if you do.

- Only one nomination per person will be accepted (if more than one is nominated, the first book posted will be accepted).

- Nominations will close on Sunday 22nd Wednesday 18th and will be followed by a poll.

--------
Books nominated so far:
Solomon's Oak
The Golem and the Jinni
The Sea of Tranquility
The Graveyard Book
The Winter Sea
Never Let Me Go
I Am Number Four
A Town Like Alice
Lucky
The Twelve Tribes of Hattie
The Last Policeman
In the Woods
The Waking Dark
The Great Gatsby

No worries Diane, at least you've nominated. At this rate you'll be the only one to suggest a book lol

I set up three buddy reads for November, so I feel like all my nominations "won" already!

I think I'll nominate...The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. That's my planned audio for the month. :)
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

I have to say that I like all the nominations so far. I had never heard of Solomon's Oak, but it sounds really good and the other two are already on my TBR.

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments The Sea of Tranquility is soooo good! Great nomination Yasmeen.

You know what I was going to nominate Doctor Sleep, but then I got to thinking if we keep nominating possible winners in this year's awards, our BOTM's for next year will be very low in participation. (And I have a feeling that Doctor Sleep will probably be the horror winner simply on name of author alone.)

So I will nominate The Winter Sea The Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley

Sarah | 1467 comments OK I am adding my own nomination.
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro . I am reading this right now and going crazy because I desperately need to discuss this book. I am so shaken up by the ethical issues addressed and it has really got me thinking. Wow. What a read. This is one that will stay with you. This book was written for a BOTM or book club or the classroom. This is a must read.

I was not being sarcastic. I really do have that book on my bookshelf and I really do want to read it.

Grainne | 17 comments Oh sorry:(

message 28: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments lol Grainne, that sometimes happens when we receive email notifications of postings; picture links do not show up in the emails, so it looks like things have been left blank.

It's always good to come to the thread discussion itself and see what is posted before replying, lol. All lessons in learning how Goodreads operates :-)

Wow, no nominations for a few days to loads!

I'm actually going to close nominations early because of the amount of books we already have.

Sorry if you missed out but don't worry, you'll get your chance next month :)

The poll to vote can be found here http://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/90...
