The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

Hi everyone,

I've just joined Goodreads and it's great to see so many fellow crime/thriller fans :) As for myself, I started early, bingeing on Agatha Christie when I was around 11 (yes, waaay too young to be reading about murders and such). At the moment I'm slowly coming out of a Scandi-noir phase and I've just discovered Gillian Flynn (excellent!). I'm also a writer and screenwriter (mainly crime thrillers), but here I'll only be taking part as a fellow reader. To mark my joining of Goodreads, I've posted a little blog about the she-villain, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on your favourite she-badasses :) And I look forward to taking part in the discussions and discovering new books! Welcome to Goodreads, Jasmina. Read your blog and couldn't agree more. The villaine has so many more weapons in her arsenal than her counterpart. Look how Dashiell Hammett's Brigid O'Shaughnessy nearly sent Sam Spade to the gallows.

Thanks Don! Yes, Hammett's dames are definitely deadly... I just saw in another discussion thread that you've written a sequel to The Maltese Falcon, so I'll check that out after my current reads...
