Ian McCain (iansmccain) | 5 comments I just updated the cover art for the first novel in my new vampire fiction series "The Product Line".

The first book is available in the kindle store now. Let me know what you think of the new cover :)

Reed Bosgoed (ReedBosgoed) | 5 comments It's an alright cover, though I've seen a ton of books that have a zoomed in view of an eye on them. It looks good but it's a fairly common choice.

Ian McCain (iansmccain) | 5 comments Yeah, I agree that there are a lot of covers that use this particular choice.

Here were the original covers:

So, even though it's a familiar device I feel it is a step in a positive direction.

Thanks for the feedback!

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 7 comments I've not read this book but of the three covers, the newest definitely gets my attention, much more than the other two, and makes me want to read the description. Eyes may be commonly used on covers but if done properly, it can really evoke emotion and give the reader an idea of the tone of the book.

Thanks Michelle. I appreciate your input. That is definitely the goal with the cover, inspire enough curiosity to have someone look further into the story.

Michelle (quill_n_ink) | 7 comments To me, covers are nearly as important as the description of the book. The initial impression can make a big difference. "The Eye" looks dark, maybe sinister. I see it and my first thought is paranormal or evil. The syringe makes me think it's some sort of medical/drug story and the brick wall with graffiti reminds me of a gum shoe novel (or a program from a high school play). So, yeah, the eye seems to match the description much better, imho.
