Rod Horncastle We have a fair bit of new people here.

So what are people's favorite topics? I love starting threads and getting people exploring Biblical and Christian issues - as world as comparing worldviews and Demonic false religions.

What is really on everyone's hearts?

Oghenovo Obrimah | 25 comments Hi Rod. Thanks for kick starting this thread. I would suggest a discussion on what it means to "rest in God" and how to determine for ourselves whether we are at rest in God or need to fight by faith to enter the rest that is ours by promise from Jesus Christ in Matthew 11: 28-29. The promise of rest also is discussed in Hebrews 4: 1-8. Be of good cheer everyone, Jesus has overcome the world in our behalf (John 16:33).

John McCann | 308 comments Rod, One concern I have is why Christians don't go to church. I cannot always be sure that it is always the fault of the Christian. Some churches don't encourage Christians, but put heavy burdens to get the numbers up in attendance which discourages Christians. There is a multitude of reasons and I would like to know solutions to encourage Christians back to church. Also, to know faults Pastors use that discourage Christians.

Blake | 6 comments The Sufficiency of Christ and His Word is one topic that I believe is worth discussing.

Blake | 6 comments And what Oghenovo said as well.

Hot topics: what our world is facing and how to apply the Word of God to those issues. I work for a crisis pregnancy center so abortion is today's hot topic.

message 7: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Important issues everyone. We should indeed talk deeply about these in some threads. I'll start some - or feel free to start them yourselves as well.

All of my concerns are based around the Word of God and Apologetics. So I'm always chatting about those.

Awesome Rod! Thanks! Let me know where I want to be a fly on the wall.

John McCann | 308 comments Don wrote: "I'd love to hear what God is doing in other countries - outside of the US."

Don, the best resource I know of is "Operation World: The Definitive Prayer Guide to Every Nation". It's now in its 7th edition.

message 10: by Oghenovo (new)

Oghenovo Obrimah | 25 comments Take it away Rod with any of the suggested topics, all of which sound interesting.

message 11: by John (new)

John McCann | 308 comments Prophecy or end times is interesting; although I do not become consumed by it. Cable TV has some well-studied hosts. Israel is the time clock, as one host states. Another states the four horsmen of the apocalips; with the final horse___Islam. Not sure, but interesting. The Bible does says a lot about end times. Those who are wise are able to interprete.

message 12: by Oghenovo (new)

Oghenovo Obrimah | 25 comments Prophecy is very specific and difficult to converge on when people have been exposed to different interpretations. I know we may not all agree on any of the other topics, but the other topics are general enough that everyone can have some take away even if we do not all agree on those topics. I suggest we leave specific topics like prophecy for much later; that is, until we have exhausted the topics already outlined. If we watch (give thanks always) and pray (seek Jesus' Kingdom and His righteousness) we should be fine in the mean time.

Don Mance Thanks John - I'll take a look at that!

message 14: by Suzette (new)

Suzette Webb | 5 comments Hi Everyone -

I would like to hear more about people's intimate walk with Christ, and how a deeper relationship with Him has impacted other areas of their life. This topic may be a more basic one, but it's great for inspiring testimonials and life lessons.

message 15: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Good question Suzette.
I hope to spend the first 1,000 years in Heaven going around hearing everyone's testimonies and adventures.

But it's great to hear some NOW too!

message 16: by Suzette (new)

Suzette Webb | 5 comments Agreed!!

message 17: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Good idea Suzette. I would love to give people a place to share their testimonies. (although some people are quite long winded - there are many new authors here). So I'll have to think of some restrictions.

And we also have some people who are basically Buddhist Wizards posing as Christians. We really don't need their raising the dead and going to hell and back accounts just yet.
Basically if someone's testimony ISN'T ABOUT JESUS - we don't need to hear it.

message 18: by Rod (new)

Rod Horncastle Blake getting to THE POINT!
"The Sufficiency of Christ and His Word is one topic that I believe is worth discussing."

Wow, now that's an essential topic. We MUST chat about that. I'll get on it.
