The final installment of Mickey Zucker Reichert's trilogy that follows Susan Calvin before the events of Asimov's I, Robot, finally has a release date. >> February 2, 2016 <<
While I was pretty much lukewarm on the first two novels, I am still interested in reading the final chapter to this story. Although I might have to re-read the first two books to refresh my memory before the release of the third. Has anyone else been following this trilogy?
I read the first one. It was fine as SF stories go, but i couldnt get past the contradictions with existing Asimovian lore to enjoy it as part of that storyline.
After reading (and being disappointed with) the Second Foundation Trilogy by the Three B's (Benford, Bear, and Brin), I've learned to just think of this as a separate story all together with out any impact on the original stories. That way, one can appreciate it on its own merits, which I found are enough to read the third and final book.
I can't bring myself to read the derivative works. The Foundation followups by Asimov himself were bad enough. Can't do Man-Kzin wars either, no matter how much I love Niven and the Kzinti.
Yeah, the Three B's second Foundation Trilogy was just okay. I've enjoyed the other Robot Mysteries that take place on Aurora and feature some of the characters from the Robot City books. Caliban was good too. I was okay with those being in the same universe.
