Why do you think Irving gives such leeway to Harry?

Phrynne | 607 comments I'm not sure about this one especially since Irving is as bad as the rest of them at the end. Is it because of the relationship he had with Harry's mother maybe.

I think there's more to learn about Irving. His tolerance of Harry's behavior is puzzling.

Tracey (trakka) | 407 comments I agree. He seems to be very accepting of Harry and his unconventional behaviour. Maybe it will unravel later.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments We seem to be aboard the same train on this question; I wonder what the future holds on this part of the story?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I agree with everyone. I think we'll get more information about Irving's relationship with Harry in future books.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments It seems to me that Irving has finally accepted that Harry is a good man and a good cop and the department is better off with him in it. At one point, Harry admits that they have a grudging respect for one another now.
