They are also doing a summer kindle sale

If Amazon decide to reduce the price of books, are they still not obliged to pass on the agreed percentage of the retail price to authors?

They once reduced the price of my paperback. My payout did not reduce for that period.

Kevin Marsh | 616 comments Hello David,

I thought that would be the case. They still have to pay out what is due even if they reduce the price themselves.

Jim | 21811 comments I think it's only for those signed up for Amazon Prime as well, so I think it might best be considered a way of Amazon promoting Prime.
So any costs incurred will probably be booked out to the promo budget
Never bothered signing up to it myself, it just struck me as an expensive way of locking myself into Amazon
