Iffix Santaph | 324 comments Hi all,
I saw a contest for Entrada to create a free review and I signed up, and I was shocked to discover that I won. Has anyone used Entrada's service before? I mean, a free review is still a free review, but how big of a deal is this? Hoping to hear from anyone regarding the experience.
Thanks.
Iffix

Yvonne Anderson (yanderson) | 8 comments I had the same experience: learned about Entrada for the first time here on Goodreads, entered the contest for a free review, and won. (Were there only five entrants?) Is it a scam? Possibly! When I tried to locate them through a Google search, I came up with nothing, so change that "possibly" to "probably." I wondered as I sent them my book file if they're now going to be selling it on the black market. Who knows? But I don't care. If it gets people to read this first book in the series, maybe that will help sell the rest. After all, everyone who reads it is sure to love it, right, and scamper out to buy the next book? (Don't worry, I'm laughing as I say this.) I have no grand hopes, but am curious to see what happens next.

Brett Dent | 1 comments Hi,
I know this is a bit late, but I just got an e-mail today from them asking me to be a reviewer. I checked out their website and see that they are charging about $230 for a review in 5-8 weeks. Looks like they are trying to jump into the Kirkus pool. No idea if it is legit, but I would stay cautious. If a Kirkus review can't help your sales, then I doubt they could either.

Whether it is a scam or not, I can't see a scenario where the review would pay for itself. Of course, if they're giving them away as you said, I'm not sure what the downside is. Maybe they are just looking for the up-sale off a good review they give you. Hope this helps!

Ian Copsey (ian_d_copsey) | 69 comments It's not a scam. Many of us have won a free review and mine should be added any day now. From what I can see, they use this as publicity for their other services - editing, proof reading etc.

Iffix Santaph | 324 comments I had a very nice review from Entrada since the original question. No, it hasn't increased sales, but it was encouraging nonetheless.

Yvonne Anderson (yanderson) | 8 comments Yeah, me too -- nice review. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but it didn't cost me anything.
