Smiling softly no one ever told her such a thing like that before. Lily was tensed up when he took his hand in hers not use of having some touch her only when it came to hitting her.

"I'm self-centered?! At least I care about my job and what I'm doing in my life. Do you want me stare at you all day like your precious object?" He snapped right back. They were arguing again this time it felt even worse.

Michael smiled. He could slowly feel his trust growing on her. He slowly lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her hand gently.


Alice was leaning back against her desk with her arms crossed. "I don't want you to stare at me like that! I'm not precious! I'm not fragile! I can take care of myself. But I also know that you're lonely and I'm lonely and I don't see why the feelings wouldn't develop. You're a very attractive man I can't lie about that."

Lily felt like he was going to kiss her lips she would have freaked because it wasn't something she was used. Neither was this. No one was going to hurt she repeated in her head.

Jay looked at her with disgust."You're upset because I don't have feelings for you?! You sound like a girl who only cares about marriage" Shaking his head knowing it was wrong to like her. She was so tempting though.

He patted her hand then placed it in her lap. "Now, may I show you around?" He asked nicely.


She scoffed. "I care about marriage? That's coming from the man who whines about lonely he is and how he can't talk to women properly without embarrassing himself! Honesty; are you thirteen?!" She bit back.

Looking up at him. "I have to get dressed" whispering softly. "Those other dresses down here I can wear? I dont have to wear the same one?" Asking softly.

"Having a hard time? Do you think I care what other girls think about it"

"I can find you one." He nodded, standing up. "Can you wait here a moment?" He asked.

"I can find you one." He nodded, standing up. "Can you wait here a moment?" He asked.


"You clearly do. If you didn't you wouldn't be so upset right now." She said

Nodding her head. "I'm sorry for bothering you I will find away to get my own dresses." Whispering softly.

"I'm upset because you do this to me all the time. Since day one. If you don't want to be hear then leave." Retorting back at her.

"It's no problem." He smiled and went upstairs quickly to find her a dress that an older girl wouldn't wear anymore or doesn't fit them.

She gasped, stepping back. "You...you think this is all my fault?" She placed a hand over her heart, then dropped it. "Fine." She spat and grabbed her coat. "I'll leave. You'll never have to see my pathetic face again." She snapped and stomped toward the door.

Smiling to herself. It was nice to be cared about for once. Lily was happy and calm though she still felt the need to be on guard.

Jay realized what he said running to catch up to her. Grabbed her arm and turned her around gently. Looking down at her smiling before he found her lips.

Michael checked each older girls room until he had a handful of perfectly nice dresses for lily. With a smile, he headed back downstairs.

Alice gasped and stumbled back a little until he held her firmly and before she could blink his lips were on hers. She was in shock but that didn't stop her from closing her eyes and kissing him back.

Lily got up and went to the bed. Having a lot of something was different for her. Micheal was nice and kind to her. That made her feel very happy inside.

Everything inside of him told him to stop that this was wrong. He couldn't help it though. It felt so right.

He skipped down the basement steps while whistling. "I have a few choices here for you." He sat them down on the bed.


her heart began to race. She gripped his coat jacket and broke the kiss, sucking in a breath. She pressed her forehead to his and opened her eyes just to see if it was real. She hoped it was.

Looking at the handful of dresses. "I can choose from any of those?" Asking while her eyes widen some. "I don't have to wear the same one?" Pivoting around to see him.

"We shouldn't be kissing." He whispered softly. Though through all this he just wanted one more.

He raised an eyebrow. "Of course. I know girls like to have choices. If you don't pick one today, you can wear or another day." He smiled. The dresses were perfect condition and lively colours.

She bit her lip to stifle her smile. "You're the one who kissed me first." She whispered, her cheeks turning pink.

A smiled play across her face. "I never had a chance to wear a different dress everyday." Whispering softly. Moving to hug him this meant a lot to her. "Thank you."

"Yeah and I wanna do it again." Smiling softly.

He chuckled softly and wrapped his arms around her gently, pressing a soft kiss to her head. "No need to thank me. It's my pleasure."

She giggled and flattened her palms against his chest. "Then do it again." She prompted.

Smiling some, she was honestly happy. "I'm going to pick out one to wear." Lily looked back at the dresses and started to go through after she moved away from Micheal.

"Okay then" Leaning down kissing her lips ever so softly.

He smiled, happy to see her happy. "I'll go get us our lunch. I'll knock before I come down." He said, then headed upstairs.

She smiled and kept smiling as she kissed him back, returning the soft kiss.

Nodding her head slowly. "Okay" She said. With a sigh of relief she was glad that he didn't notice her breakfast in the trash. Lily wasn't hungry, but eating regularly never really happened for At first stomach used to growl a lot now it doesn't at all. Finding a purple color dress she slipped it on without a corset again. Her body still ached from head to tow and she didn't want to make worse. Maybe she should tell Micheal about throwing the food away?

Wrapping his arms around her back as they slid down to waist to hold her properly. Smiling some he pulled away a little bit. "You should get going . I don't want you to get in trouble" Whispering very softly.

Michael walked into the kitchen and made ham and cheese sandwiches for the both of then with a side of cut up veggies. He placed everything on a tray and carried it out of the kitchen. He softly knocked on the basement door. "May I come down?" He called.

Alice sighed softly and gripped the opening of his suit jacket in her small hands as she gazed up at him. "Aren't I already in lot of trouble?" SHe teased

"Yes" Trying to make her voice go a little loud so he could hear her. Wondering if he will notice the food in the trash the haunting thought of it kept coming back. Shaking it off pushing it back in her brain. Sitting on the bed snuggled into some blankets. Which felt warm.

Smiling some. "Your in very big trouble." Teasing her back. "But that's okay I won't tattle."

He opened the door with his foot and walked down the stairs with the tray. "Lunch is served." He smiled and placed it on the table by the bed. "I like that colour on you." He smiled.


She giggled and nodded, regrettably stepping back. She grabbed her coat and shrugging it on, then buttoned up each buttoned slowly.

Blushing softly. "Thank you." Smiling some looking at the food. "Micheal I um not really used to eating so I didn't eat breakfast because I just was going to leave and felt like I didn't deserve to eat." Speaking really fast, but feeling better.

"I guess I'll see you tomorrow." He asked looking at her.

He raised his eyebrows, but then his expression softened. "I assumed so. But it's okay. You deserve to eat." He sat down on the bed beside her and picked up her plate. "Just try some."

She looked up at him, smoothing down her skirts. "Is that what you want?" She asked softly.

"You're not mad at me?" Asking skeptical raising a brow. "I'm not use to eating." Lily stared at the food on the plate below her. "Will this make me better?" She was very skin and frail for someone her age.

"Alice you have class tomorrow so that is my excuse to see you until you are done." Not mentioning she was almost done with everything because then what would they be?

He nodded. "It'll make you feel a lot stronger and less tired. He took a bite of his own sandwich. "Yum!" He chuckled


She nodded, sighing softly. She collected her books, holding them to her chest. "Until tomorrow then?"

Smiling some taking a bite of the her sandwich. Chewing it very slowly. "Thank you."

"Are you in need of a medical assistance? You look a little pale." Knowing it wouldn't be wrong to help her home if she was sick.

He smiled, happy to see her eating. "The cooks here are very lovely ladies and they good amazingly."


She bit her lip to hide her smile. She caught on to his game quickly. Pouting, she dramatically touched her forehead. "Yes, I'm feeling slightly warm."

Lily nodded her head some and ate her sandwich slowly. "I don't feel so well now." Knowing the reason is because her body wasn't use to food.

Jay grinned. "That's too bad I'm going to have to walk you all the way to your house. I must carry your books too because a lady who is that sick shouldn't" Walking to her side taking her books. "Its going to be okay" Winking.

He touched her shoulder. "That's because your body isn't used to eat, but it'll catch on. Just eat slowly."

She giggled lightly, rubbing her lips together to stop it. "I think that would be best." She nodded and cleared her throat, handing him her books.

"Micheal I'm scared" Whispering softly. Everything was so new to her. Most of all she was worried that he would end up hurting her in the end.

Taking her books. "I'm no doctor my the diagnosis couldn't be any good." He was happy not really remembering when he was genuinely happy.

He frowned, his vision clouding with concern. "Scared? About what?" He asked gently.


"Well I still think it'll be safe that you attend with me on my way home, just in case it's worse than we think." She played along.

"About everything." Sighing some."Everything is new to me and I don't know how to act to it." Looking up at him. "This won't last it never does. Nothing never lasts for me."

"Yeah we might want to hurry too, don't want you getting sicker." Smiling.

"I can last if you want it to." He murmured. "You just have to really want it."


She nodded and looped her arm through his. "Just in case I stumble." She winked.

She was getting uncomfortable they just meant and she wasn't sure. Lily didn't anything after that. Eating the rest of the food slowly.

"Yes we don't want you get damage." Chuckling a little bit.

Michael sighed. He didn't know why he tried he so hard. He stood up and began to clean up his bedroom.


Alice giggled and nodded. "Yes. We wouldn't want that."

Lily knew it wasn't going to last. "I have to go thank you for your hospitality" Getting up and walking up the stairs. Her eyes glistened full of tears. Feeling as if though her life was a broken bone and would never heal. How could Micheal care so much for her? They only just meant, he deserved better than her. No one wanted a broken girl with a baggage claim.

"No that would be so terrible if you ended up hurt" Smiling. "I would have to doctor you."

"Wait, what?" He glanced up and frowned deeply as she started to leave. He didn't understand. "Lily, please don't go back there. I won't let you!"

"It seems that way, doesn't it?" She giggled lightly and led them out of the school house.

"I wasn't going to go back there, now it sounds good" Looking solemnly. "I don't know if you will hurt me. Im afraid of all this. I'm broken and why would you care about me?" She was so confused about everything. "I'm scared."

"Yes" Smiling.

He furrowed his brows. How did she not trust him already? Or consider him a friend? "Lily, I already told you loads of times that I'm never going to hurt you. You're safe here."


She giggled and tightened her grip on his arm as they walked.

"I know, but that doesn't mean I can't be afraid of this. I'm afraid. You seemed to be upset with me so I thought I would leave. You deserve a better friend then me. No one wants a broken girl who second guess everything." Glancing up Michael a little. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have said anything."

Jay looked down at Alice. "I hope you'll feel better."

Michael listened intently. He then sighed, running his hands through his hair. "If you were a bother to be, you'd know", he said. "Trust me, Lily. You're welcomed here."


She nodded and looked around curiously as they walked.

Biting her lip softly. "Michael why are you so nice to me?" Looking up at him unsure on what to do. She didn't know what else to say. Recalling that he said that he would last if she really wanted him to.

People looked at them as they were walking. "Don't pass out here. We will be at your house in no time"

"Because you're human." He said like it was so casual. "I don't have any reasons to be mean to you or dishonest."


She pretended to look faint, pouting her lips and hooding her gaze as she nodded.

Was that a good reason because she was human? Sighing some. Deciding to change the subject. "Aren't you going to show me around?" Deep down wondering how long he would put up with her not trusting him.

Worried that this could ruin his job. "How are you feeling?" Jay tilted his head a little.

His eyebrows rose. "Uh, yes. If that's what you would like." He said, nodding.

"Slightly woozy, but okay." She replied with a weak nod.

((Sorry I didn't post sooner I have a stomach virus and my dad is in the hospital soo))

"Yeah that's what I thought we were going to do." Hoping he wouldn't say anything about changing the subject.


"Well your Aunt and Uncle should make you feel better." Reassuring her. They came to house. Whispering in her ear. "I could make you feel better too." Backing away. "Stay safe Alice and I'll make sure we have a good easy day tomorrow."

((Oh no! I'm sorry))

He nodded and stood up, brushing off his pants. He held out his hand. "Shall we?"

Alice nodded then blushed at what he whispered to her. She bit her lip and half turned, watching him leave. "Yes. I look forward to it." She smiled and waved
