how strict are you being with the history?
I might be willing to skim some of it, but FYI, I'm a pretty critical reader -- more than most people -- especially when it concerns something I know about. Half of my history BA was in East Asian history and I'm the SCA's ONLY Jurchen persona. I teach a class called "Talons and White Crests" on the history of falconry and parrot aviculture in greater China (China was only south of the Great Wall prior to the Jurchen conquests in the 12th century following overthrow of the Liao which held Jurchens in bitter slavery for over a century).
Which is to say, I know enough to spot deviations from history.
With that caveat, if you want to send me a pdf to look at for a bit, I will do so for you.

Actually, I'm not really strict about the history, since 90% of my characters are fictional! The story is more like wuxia fiction--martial arts romances (by romance I mean the medieval chivalry genre, not the contemporary definition)--with historical setting as a background, not the main focus. Moreover, the tale I'm adapting was historically inaccurate in a few places, even when it was written in the 9th century!
Still, if you see things that are incorrect (such as chairs appearing in the Han dynasty, paper used in the Qin dynasty, etc), I'd be more than grateful.
Anyway, thanks for the offer--if you can PM me your email or email me at ayaling1024[at]gmail.com, I'll be happy to send you a copy.
Well you know my address Aya, send it on over XD
Please message me if you'd like to be a beta reader! You don't have to be knowledgeable about Chinese history (although it certainly helps!), just let me know how you feel about the plot and characters. I think if you enjoy fantasy/mystery/historical fiction, as well as a strong female heroine, this may be your cup of tea :)
