Is anyone currently reading this book?

Just started Shift Omnibus Edition (Silo, #2) and so far so good. I am only on page 64 but I hate to put it down. I have Dust also so I can read right through to the end of the series.

I've finished it about a week ago. The first part is interesting as it shows how it all comes to be, but then it get's more interesting. There are some surprises and twists as well, building up the tension before Dust.

It's one of those books where I think I know what is going to happen, but the author keeps prove me wrong.

Sunnyside Reads LFL (sunnysidereadslfl) | 4 comments I've made it to just past page 700, chaptwr 62. I'm not finding it quite as good as Wool bit it's still very good. I'm taking a little break from it, I read a couple genres and can only do so many of the same type in a row before I get bored. I'm sure I'll go back to it soon.

Schuyler Karen (readersink) | 4 comments The whole series, from WOOL to DUST, is my favorite of the last 5 years. Phenomenal. Lyrical writing that's also somehow straightforward & layered, just like the characters.

I have the series only in e-format, but intend to buy them in paper. I don't say that about a lot of books, but these I need nearby, to trace my fingers over the words on the paper & hug the stories close to my heart.

I'm the same. I'm reading other books now before I continue with Dust. The trilogy is really good but can't take too much of it.

I have the Wool omnibus in print, I find the type bit small. If it was me, I would probably to wait for a boxed or limited signed editions.

Susan (susanw610) | 20 comments I finished Shift about a week or so ago. I found it easier to read Donald’s story over Jimmy’s (Solo) maybe because it was so heart wrenching, him being so young, I felt his fear. I had to take a break every now and then from the intensity; whereas I alternately felt sorry for Donald or disliked him. I really loved getting the background on the why and how. I agree with Ellie, just when I thought I knew what would happen – it didn’t, the story kept me on my toes. I am moving on to Dust but I have taken a break from Sci-Fi and started The Book Thief.

Susan this is exactly how I feel about Hugh's series and the reason why I think they are good. Not many books make me feel like I've had too much of it because of the emotional intensity they cause me. But it might be just you and me.

Jenny (juliababyjen) This book was just amazing, and what an ending! I need to get Dust now!!
