Discuss the style or elements of the podcast and/or the Night Vale twitter account and/or the fandom derivative stuff about it.

Yes!

I'll add them to our bookshelf. I hope we can discuss the book in October. And maybe discuss other book(s) meanwhile too. Ideas?

Serena | 13 comments Sure, I see you like Diana Wynne Jones and Neil Gaiman, any of their books you've not read? I have a 68% similarity rating with you, so your suggestions are welcome. :)

I think you may like Kelly Link. Some of her stuff reminds me of Night Vale, btw. For example, in the short story collection Magic for Beginners, the titular story is about a strange tv show called The Library. It's weird, funny and creepy.

Serena | 13 comments It's a bit pricey for a kindle book ($7.99), but does look interesting, I'll put it on my wish list. Do you know Charles de Lint or Andre Norton?

One of Kelly Link's books (Stranger Things Happen) is under a Creative Commons license, and you can download it here . Sadly, it doesn't include the short story Magic for Beginners, but you can check it out and see if you like her style.

I've read some of the Newford books by Charles de Lint (and liked them a lot), but haven't read anything by Andre Norton yet. I'll pick up something by her, as soon as I can decide on one of her books.
