I think you may like Kelly Link. Some of her stuff reminds me of Night Vale, btw. For example, in the short story collection Magic for Beginners, the titular story is about a strange tv show called The Library. It's weird, funny and creepy.

One of Kelly Link's books (Stranger Things Happen) is under a Creative Commons license, and you can download it here . Sadly, it doesn't include the short story Magic for Beginners, but you can check it out and see if you like her style.
I've read some of the Newford books by Charles de Lint (and liked them a lot), but haven't read anything by Andre Norton yet. I'll pick up something by her, as soon as I can decide on one of her books.
