Strictly speaking it doesn't need to be from the book and I can't see that there is any attribution to any book. Cassandra Clare is notable enough that we could probably add her laundry list as a quotation. Or not. A joke by her counts as a quote just like most statements and witicisms from an author. If you know of any pronouncement from her where she denies saying/writing it then that would be different, I think.
