Neil Hi gang,

I wanted to share stuff from a good friend of mine who's running a Kickstarter campaign right now for Tesla vs. Cthulhu: The Nightmare of Desolation Sound. It's a transmedia project that combines a graphic novel, short film and radio plays (podcast format) to tell the story of a doomed expedition from Miskatonic University...

Some great excerpts and the promo video are on the Kickstarter page at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/j...

Thanks for your time everyone, and fingers crossed!

Light vs dark. Science vs the occult. Electricity vs magic. Good vs evil. Reason vs superstition. The modern world vs the ancient. Earth vs the alien stars. Tesla vs Cthulhu.

Nikola Tesla is indescribably awesome. He invented alternating current, the A/C motor, the remote control, neon and fluorescent lighting, robotics, and radio (yes, it was Tesla and not Marconi). He held over 300 patents and, in 1901, he predicted a device we'd hold in our hand to speak to each other, dictate to text, transmit pictures, and listen to music, across the globe and all without wires. More than a century later, we have that device and we call it a smartphone. Tesla was, by any standards, a genius and has been called "The Inventor of the 20th Century". Who ELSE would you want defending the Earth?

H.P. Lovecraft created one of the most terrifying visions of the supernatural the world has ever seen. His vision of a universe filled with beings who either sought our destruction or simply were utterly indifferent to our suffering or our very existence has inspired artists as diverse as Neil Gaiman, August Derleth, Clive Barker, Guillermo Del Toro, Stephen King, Alan Moore, H.R. Giger, Robert Bloch, Mike Mignola, Roger Corman, Sam Raimi, John Carpenter...

So, the Inventor of the 20th Century. The most influential horror writer of all time.

How can these two worlds not meet?

William Stacey (williamstacey) Okay, this is pretty cool. I watched the promo video and enjoyed it. Also, how could you not want to be part of "Team Cthulhu?"

I'll be watching this; it has my interest.

Neil Thanks William! I was speaking with the writer/creator Jeff Richards, and he mentioned that Team Cthulhu is getting way more love than Team Tesla. That might not bode well for the planet earth :)

BTW, the "Updates" tab in the Kickstarter contains excerpts from the diary of the protagonist, Elaine West. Creepy Lovecraftian goodness :)

Laura Sounds really cool! I hope it's successful (partly so I get my prizes . . .)
